Useful, 20 Jun 2007
I found this book really quite useful as it gives you all the necessary details about every standard aircraft on FS2004 to hand. It also walks you through some great training flights that can really help you get used to the simulator.
Worth the investment! :)
It IS worth having!, 05 Oct 2005
I bought this, and find that it does contain almost word for word all advice and info in the program. BUT! In spite of this, it is much better than making your own hard copy, as it has a useful index, and can be read at your leisure, or used as a 'knee pad'.
Very Basic - Nothing New, 06 Jun 2005
Nothing in this that isn't already shipped with the main program.....so if you don't mind printing out stuff from the Help documentation, this book is really a waste.

Great Guide, 15 Jun 2006
A great guide with everything you need to know about how to get the most out of this superb game! The section on how to keep stars happy and turn 2-3 star scrips into 5 star movies were particularly helpful!

Hmm..., 31 Jan 2004
I have always found the Sims strategy guides useful and this was certainly useful, though whether it was essential or not is not really the point. If you are desperate to buy it, I suggest that you buy it in New and Used, as otherwise it may be a slight waste of money! If you need all the information NOW, go ahead, but if you've got awhile, I suggest you just look on the net - you'll find all the available information.

i got this book and it told me from island to island!, 30 Oct 2005
The only reason i bought this book was so i could use ny time on learning what to do to keep my people happy and my creature good. But i fakt i got more than needed. The guide told me what happens if you do this or do this and how it will effect me. it tells you how to be total evil or total good. or how to me natural. this helps me a lot. and the biggest question was fixen in some secs. i used the guide and i got the good god i wanted to be. If you own the game then buy this guide.. maps, creature info, good-evil guide, and tells what all the builings do and how youre people will do if you biuld them.

Well worth getting this book for its useful tips and background information on the routes. I haven't dared to try the Game Tools yet, so I don't know how good the book is on this subject. However, just like TrainSim itself, I'm afraid the book does contain some errors, which can cause confusion, especially on the Marias Pass chapter. It mixed up east and west at one point, and also refers to the wrong goods yard elsewhere, for example. Station stops in the simulator do not always match those in the descriptions. However, all in all, the book is useful and interesing, even if it is written in American!
The manual MSTS should have had in the box, 15 Aug 2001
This book is great for getting you started with the simulator. It walks you though all the activities with detailed instructions on how to finish them (if in a way that would get you the sack in real life) The best part is a basic overview of the game editors. They can be hard to use and the book helps a lot. On the down side, 2 weeks after buying the book everything I want to know is "beyond the scope of this book"
An invaluable guide, 05 Jul 2001
I found this book invaluable when playing the American release, and David Chong really does help you. With the tips he provides, and the easy to understand graphics and guides, this book really does add something extra to the game!

Not that bad, 18 Mar 2004
I've seen better, but I've also seen worse. The guide has received some very negative reviews, but I found it useful. Agreed, it could have been a lot better (the guide for Combat Flight Simulator 3 proves this), and an index would have been handy. And another thing: this guide mostly contains stuff which should have come with the game in the first place. At least Sybex offers an alternative to not having to burn out your own printer or making do without any documentation. All in all, I think it was a good purchase.
NO INDEX! & LITTLE ELSE., 02 Sep 2002
As the author of 24 books and the holder of an Airline Transport Pilot Licence and Flight Instructor Rating, I feel qualified to comment on this book. The cover says it has "comprehensive coverage of both standard and professional editions including the new interactive air traffic control feature." In fact the words "air traffic control" do not appear in the table of contents and the book has no index! I have yet to find the alleged ATC coverage, The book contains much extraneous information and no helpful software data, no troubleshooting guide, no guide to keystroke comands. Nothing on how to use the autopilot. It is as confusingly organized as the sof tware's so-called "help" files. It provides 13 identical "fill-in-the-blanks" aircraft checklist forms, one for each aircraf t in the software, using up 32 of the book's 156 pages. What a waste of space. Don't waste your money.
A must read if you own Flight Simulator 2002, 08 Nov 2001
This is a fantastic book by all means. If you are a flight simulator fanatic then you have to buy this... The book written by David Chong has everything in it about flight simulator 2002, both the standard and proffesional editions of it. I would even suggest buying it if you are a proud owner of any of the other flight simulator versions (98 and 2000) because this features everything about those games too. The only difference with this flight simulator books to others is that this is a little more updated and it is an official book written by real pilots. So what more can i tell you... I hope this review has helped you and happy reading!
