Best of the 3, 20 Mar 2007
By far the best out of the 3 available Part 1 books and out of the 3 its questions are most like those found in the exam.
If you are scoring well with the questions in this book then you should do well in the exam. The ONLY FRCR Part 1 MCQ book to get, 17 Dec 2004
With a great coverage of the basic physics concepts needed for the Part 1 FRCR exam, this book should form the foundation of everybody's revision. Split into numerous topics to allow focussed study and assessment, in addition to the plentiful explanations accompanying the answers, this book is both comprehensive and well thought out in its design. Summary A mandatory book for revision of basic physics concepts Positives * Good explanation of nearly all answers * Thorough coverage of the syllabus Negatives * Some topics covered a little lightly
Examination assistance - A useful piece of work, 26 Feb 2004
I think this book will be of great assistance to anyone studying for these exams, the attention to detail is high and the question and answer format is well laid out and useful. Thanks for providing a useful study aid!!
An amazing piece of work for one man, 29 Jan 2004
This book is the only one of its kind for the new FRCR part 1. As such it is indispensible. What is even more amazing is that this is the work of one man. A book of this kind would usually be written by a team of three of four people. Hats off to D.Tolan!

all new book from scratch and it's great., 07 Jan 2008
The title says it all really. I bought this and used it for the Dec. 07 sitting of the FRCR part 1 just after the book came out. Not only is it the most up to date MCQ book (and therefore has ALL the new regulations in it) but it also has explainations of the answers and key concepts on top of the MCQs. This ought to be top of your list for choosing a Part 1 MCQ book, and combined with the Tolan et al. one is all you should need for MCQs.

How I passed my FRCR 2A, 19 May 2007
Step 1. Buy a copy of "Radiology MCQs for the New FRCR" (S. Hussain) and "Radiology Review Manual" (W. Dahnert)
Step 2. Do one MCQ
Step 3. Check the answer
Step 4. Read up the topic in Dahnert
Step 5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 till you complete the modules you are sitting for
A must have, 02 May 2007
I used this MCQ book for the recent round of FRCR 2A exams. I have to say that it is the best of the 2A MCQ books available (and i've got a lot of them!) with well-constructed questions and good explanations. Having done the exam i was struck by how similar the questions in this book were to the questions in the actual exam. Not only that but the format was very similar, and they give you "exam-like" papers for each section. This is thoroughly recommended. [...]
Excellent find!, 30 Oct 2006
Having passed my part 1 Radiology exam I found this book to be an invaluable asset in my revision and preparation. It provides a plethora of MCQ's on a wide variety of topics that come up in the exam.
All in all an invaluable tool.
Best FRCR MCQ book!!, 15 Oct 2006
This book is brilliant! I used it for the recent exam sitting and i passed all the modules that i took. It contains a really good mix of questions - some very similar to those which actually came up in the exams. The best thing about it is that it has lots of questions from recent radiology journals like Clinical Radiology, BJR and Radiographics.
A modern classic!, 06 Jul 2006
I came across this book at my Univeristy's bookshop - what a find! I found it an invaluable guide to the exam. Basically, it's a long list of model questions and answers, that gives you a really good idea of what's expected. It's not going to be topping any best-seller lists, but as far as I'm aware, it's the only book out there specifically designed to help with this exam, so if you're going to be taking the FRCR Part 2A, then I recommend buying it.
If you keep practising until you can get the majority of questions right, and you still fail the exam, then you must be a right muppet, and should probably consider a change of career...

book for flight revision, 05 Sep 2008
must for frcr 2a - revise alteast two times - once in flight journey to singapore and next before exam day - you will have real feel of exam.
if you board from US to london for exam - you can relax and revise in flight journey - must for frcr interested doctors from western world and from carribean area.
Brilliant Revision Aid for the 2A, 01 Apr 2005
This is an excellent book for the FRCR IIA. It covers a broad range of highly relevant and popular topics. The answers provided are concise but all well referenced from most major textbooks and journals. I personally find this a more appealing format from a revision aid, much better than many other books I have come across which often provide pages of obscure drivel at the expense of more questions. Pleased to say it got me through all the modules I sat for last week!

some good tips but very poor quality images, 05 Sep 2008
the only big disadvantage is very poor quality images and some images are small filling only half paper. some tips are really good. non uk trained doctors will have the feel of how to write in exam. but the images again not good quality.
Let down by Printers, 10 Aug 2008
I feel very sorry for the authors as the content and thought that has gone into this book is excellent. But the publishers have let that quality down by trying to keep costs down and printing it on the wrong (cheaper) paper.
The more subtle cases are very very difficult to see (even with the answer) which then makes one over/undercall cases.
I leave this feedback with sadness

Master Pass, 19 Dec 2005
Comprehensive book, but too many mistakes, especially towards the end of the book. An easy book to page through in order to cement facts.
book for flight revision, 05 Sep 2008
must for frcr 2a - revise alteast two times - once in flight journey to singapore and next before exam day - you will have real feel of exam.
if you board from US to london for exam - you can relax and revise in flight journey - must for frcr interested doctors from western world and from carribean area.
Highly Recommended, 16 Oct 2003
I have found this an extremely useful aid for my exam preparation. MCQs in clinical radiology is very thorough and up to date, concentrating on cross-sectional imaging.
Excellent MCQ Book, 19 Dec 2005
This book is set out in an exam format. 7 exams with detailed and well explained answers to common questions. The answers are set out to explain all physics principles involved in the question, as well as any important facts surrounding particular aspects of physics or legislation. This book is especially suited to any candidates not on a rotation where confusing and difficult concepts are explained. An essential book for FRCR Part 1
