Morris Dancing for the Enthusiast., 20 May 2008
This is certainly the book for you if you are an enthusiast and want a comprehensive and in depth treatise on the subject. The research seems impeccable and there is more than enough to satisfy the total (bell-bedecked) anorak. It's probably not the best book to start with if you are just getting into the dancing, though. One to help pass the winter when you can't get out a-leaping!!!
A must for the devotees of dancing the Morris., 04 Jan 2002
This book is full of useful information on the history of Morris dancing in England from the late 15th century through to the mid 18th century. It includes some details on the dance steps and movements and also some of the tunes used. The book also dispells lots of the myths surrounding the Morris and explains the details of who danced, why they danced, where they danced and when. Certainly a book for the devotee which is full of documented evidence from church records and various other archives.

If you've not seen a Matt Kimpton pantomime you've not lived, or at the very least not lived in the Isle of Wight. A fine and funny author and a lovely piece of writing.
