I successfully used this book to prepare for the removal of major uterine fibroids. I was frightened at the prospect of my first ever surgery and I would not have come out of it so positively without the book and tape. My surgeon was amazed at my recovery and he only does this type of surgery. Try it for yourself, you have nothing to lose and peace of mind and body to gain.
Read the book, used the tape, had a great recovery!, 31 Mar 1999
This is an important book! Peggy Huddleston tells you how to use relaxation methods and visualization of your outcomes (for surgery and recovery - or chemotherapy) in a very straightforward, practical way. She also tells you how to approach your surgeon and anesthesiologist before surgery, what kinds of questions to ask them, and how to get them to help ensure a positive outcome/recovery by using healing statements during surgery and post-op. Most of the pieces of Peggy's method may seem familiar, but no one has put them in one place as such an easy to use guide. I used the book and tape prior to major surgery, got out of the hospital (my choice) in 1 day, and took no pain meds after 1 day at home because I felt so good. It worked for me.
An extremely helpful tool for entering surgery with optomism, 26 Oct 1998
This book helped me prepare to undergo major surgery with a sense of participation and control. If you're going to face surgery, the use of the accompanying audio tape is essential for maximim success, but just following the five steps of preparation listed in the book is a great help. I underwent serious abdominal surgery, had very little blood loss, used half the amount of pain meds usually prescribed, and went home in 72 hours. Every surgeon should know about this book, and every person undergoing surgery, who wishes to thrive, should take a look at this one.
You Need To Read This If You're Having Surgery, 23 Jul 1998
I really found this book to be an incredibly good resource. It has prepared me mentally for my surgery and I know I won't be as freaked out when the big day comes. Anything that can help reduce recovery time and the anxiety that comes with surgery is worth a try.
Outstanding book which helped me feel relaxed and prepared., 01 Jun 1998
I read this book prior to surgery. It helped me relax about the surgery and recover more rapidly. My doctor commented several times on the fact that I did not request pain medication. I believe that was due to using this book. I highly recommend it for anyone facing surgery. It should be a part of the lending library of every physician.

Product Description
When it comes to creating the life you want, Shakti Gawain literally wrote THE book. Now considered a classic, Creative Visualization teaches readers how to use their imaginations to manifest their deepest desires. In a straight-talking narrative, Gawain uses the first part to cover the basics, with chapters such as, "How to Visualize", "Affirmations", and "Creative Visualization Only Works for the Good". Once she shows readers how the visualisation process actually works, Gawain moves onto loftier discussions such as "Contacting Your Higher Self", "Meeting Your Guide", "Setting Goals" and "Treasure Maps". Fear not, this isn't a spiritual-lightweight book for people with severe cases of the "gimmes". Gawain has her priorities in the right place, and cautions readers that creative visualisation will not serve greed or shallow-minded thinking. For example, she discourages the cycle of trying to have more money, so you can do what you want in life, so you will be happier. "The way it actually works is the reverse", she explains. "You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want". Yet she also writes an excellent chapter on letting go of the misguided guilt that inhibits readers from becoming truly prosperous. --Gail Hudson

Whether you can dream, whether you can visualise or not, this is a great starting point for the beginner and once you start you won't want to stop!
Powerful book!, 17 Aug 2008
I bought this book years ago and still refer to it frequently. I originally bought it to use the techniques to help me through my college courses and to successfully get into the university I wanted to go to. The daily affirmations really worked and I graduated with honours. The best thing about this book, in my opinion is that it helps you understand how your constant thoughts about things actually create the life you are living. And, it is through this filter that we see all things. But this "filter" also has power and it can be changed. If we can change the filter, we can change the results. It may seem simplistic to think that just changing the way you think about things can create a real change. But, changing the way you think about things, especially subconsciously is not easy! Worries and subconscious expectations, thinking "this is how things are" - these are all tough animals to tame! What we accept, what we settle for, what we aspire to, these are products of our belief system supported by our subconscious. If you want to learn some great techniques for reconfiguring your filter to start internally building the life around you that you desire, this book is invaluable.

Great practical book, 04 Mar 2008
This book is easy to read and offers different techniques for visualisation as well as for meditatiation whilst emphasizing on the power of positive affirmations. The exercises are easy to do and the results are amazing. Although I would recommend for people embarking on a journey of self-discovery and to those who want to make changes in their life to read 'You can heal your life' by 'Louise L. Hay' before reading this one as it is written for people who are already spiritually engaged.
Have whatever you want, 20 Sep 2006
This is an excellent book both for those who are new to creative visualisation and those who have had lots of experience. Shakti's book is readable and enjoyable and she gives you lots of information on how to use these tools to create the life that you want. A must for everyone.

Product Description
One of Gary Zukav's many gifts as a speaker and bestselling writer is his ability to present complicated metaphysical and spiritual themes in a way that is simultaneously down-to-earth and spine-tingling. How does he do it? Through story--the oldest and most powerful form of teaching the mind and touching the heart. As a frequent guest on Oprah, Zukav has also discovered that the public is starved for grounded information on ethereal topics such as intuition, soulful relationships, and non-human teachers. Soul Stories is a collection of true tales that speak to themes such as "Reincarnation," "A Higher Form of Reasoning," "Psychic Archaeology," "The New Female," and "Universal Humans." Some stories come from Zukav's personal experience, like his sister's car accident and his mother instantly knowing that her daughter was hurt even though they were 100 miles apart. It is tempting to view these 52 tales of fate, coincidence, and sixth sense with an air of doubt. "You have to decide," Zukav warns, "that means thinking about it and, even more important, discovering what you feel about it. Eventually, you might find that what you feel about a Soul Story is more important to you than what you think about it." No matter what you feel about the individual tales, you will leave this book trusting that the best way to understand the meaning and mysteries of life is through story. --Gail Hudson

The Path of the Soul's Progress Towards Its Purpose, 24 May 2004
This book is unusually effective in raising spiritual issues into normal awareness, and does so in a friendly and pleasant way. Each story builds nicely on the preceding one to tickle your memory about experiences that you have had or heard about, and to raise your awareness about the questions these experiences raise. You will undoubtedly gain new insights and new ideas for addressing these issues the next time you run into them. Everything is done very gently, so you can decide for yourself what you want to believe and pay attention to. The book is both extremely deep and considerate at the same time. The theme of each story is basically built around the concept of uncovering what is in your soul, and then helping your conscious self to come into alignment with your soul. There is a beautiful analogy in one of the last stories in the book about what it is like to go from being in the desert (where life is harsh, dangerous, and full of fear) into the land of milk and honey where everything is rich, comfortable, and relaxed. When we feel like we are in the desert, we are deserting our soul's purpose. When we feel like things are wonderful, we are at one with that purpose. Professional editors tell writers not create books like this. They say that readers need to have all of the dots connected. Well, although the book is not weighted down with lots of logical support for the theses that are developed here, I found that the stories were beautifully connected together -- far better than if they were all part of one story. All but a few of the stories resonated with me. I look forward to thinking more about the ones that did not, in order to discern their intended meaning. One of the best parts of the book dealt with relationships, and the ways that two people can come into and out of harmony with each other at the spiritual level. This gave me a whole new way to think about my relations with others, one that I cherish. If you love books about spiritual issues, you must read this one. If you are not sure whether you want to read about spiritual issues, you should give this book a try. It will fit comfortably with what you would like to think about. If you think you don't want to explore spiritual issues, perhaps you should give this book a try anyway. It may at least help you better understand people who are interested in developing their spirituality.

Anybody interested in conscious evolution will find this book fun to read as well as facilitating their own understanding of some of the vital insights that can save us all from what currently looks like being a bleak future here on Earth.
Sunshine on a rainy day, 26 Jan 2001
Reading this book was like sitting in the midst of rain and sun...the end rsult being a graceful rainbow. Gary Zukav has a way with words and here again he doesn't disappoint. Soul stories across time and space are shared here, stories that really touched my inner most being. By being open to the simple idea of having a 'soul', I have experienced myself entering a cathartic region of myself, a place where healing can take place. This book sheds light on the openess to the energy of having a soul, that we are more than just brains and tissue. 'THE JOURNEY:WHERE SEAGULLS DARE TO FLY' on similiar planes, is the only other book I have come across that seems to unpretentiously express such ideas, that celebrates the idea of soul. A wonderful book that inspires the mind as well as the heart.
An invisible but real dimension...., 30 Sep 2000
Gary Zukav has found a better medium for explaining his beliefs. Stories have been the best way to explain every idea since the beginning of time. I have also reviewed Gary Zukav's The Seat of the Soul in detail and reading that review may be helpful in understanding the premise behind Soul Stories. In The Seat of the Soul he explains his basic beliefs and goes into detail about authentic empowerment and how to reach beyond our five senses to become a multisensory person. Throughout Soul Stories, he also promotes the belief that the Universe is alive. To me, this is the presence of God in our lives. Gary discusses intuition, forms of reasoning, the earth school, emotional awareness, responsible choice, harmony, cooperation, sharing, reverence for life, forgiveness, love, trust, marriage, children, kindness and inner richness. It is not surprising that he also includes some health advice¯our souls do live in our bodies¯so why not create a perfect environment for the soul? We are individual souls sent to earth to fulfill a task or to learn a lesson, which will benefit us in the next life. Yes, I agree that you make your own future through making daily choices and when you have an "intention" you can create a good or bad experience. This book is a blending of Eastern religions with a generous helping of real experiences and a pinch of Christianity. I recommend that if you purchase this book and take this soul journey that you turn on your intuition, logic and perception. Be aware that although there are many truths in many religions, the ultimate truth comes from God. To know truth you must first know God. Gary has done an excellent job in raising awareness of the need to nurture our souls, however he has combined many religions into one book. It is up to us to find our own way on this journey. God created our souls; and therefore he can lead us on the path to Truth. If you are searching to find out what Gary Zukav believes, then this book is very enlightening in that regard. I think his best idea is to view life as a school and that we are here to learn. I also appreciate his encouragement to make the best decision in each moment of our lives. He has changed my life in that regard!

This is the best meditation tape I've listened to!, 28 Aug 1999
I've listened to many meditation tapes and this one is the best so far. Goleman provides you with good insight about the benifits of meditation then gives you four great exercises. It's very relaxing. Everyone I've recommended it to has also liked it. After awhile, you no longer need the tapes to meditate.

This works, please take advantage of it., 25 May 1999
I successfully used this book to prepare for the removal of major uterine fibroids.
Pink bubble, 17 Aug 2008

It may at least help you better understand people who are interested in developing their spirituality.

really works, 03 Jun 2008
This CD works but you must listen to it as often as possible. It does not have actual techniques for remembering things but it takes away the self doubt and reminds you that you do have a good memory and it is just that you keep telling yourself you don't! It definitely increased my concentration as well. I always listen to it as I'm going to sleep. If you want to know a great book that includes techniques to enhance memory buy HOW TO PASS EXAMS BY DOMINIC O BRIEN I would give that book 5 stars! After reading it I can honestly say I can remember anything I want to! If you gave me 100 words to learn in order I could NOW bet you £1000 pound that I could remember them!!! So definitely think the two work great together!
A strong one in a great series, 07 Nov 2007
I found this did work, although I've only listened once to each track so far. And I didn't really expect it to work. It is hard to believe how it could work wonders if you have serious, possibly organic memory problems, but definitely seems to have some benefit.
I think you'd have to take some other measures, like perfecting mnemonic techniques and address underlying health issues, to significantly improve your memory overall. Glenn does give basic instructions for a simple menmonic technique, but you'd be best of reading more on the subject if you want to utilise it in earnest. The benefits I noticed seemed to be more about confidence in recall, independent of techniques used, which if it really is the case and lasting, is impressive.
As for Glenn Harrold's style, voice and other features of this CD, please check my review of his Complete Relaxation for a factual, detailed description.
Personally useless, 20 Aug 2007
The CD offers help in developing a powerful memory through a hypnotic technique. Having a short memory I tried but am afraid it had no effect whatsoever in fostering my memory.
Its worth every penny, 21 Jun 2007
I have to say I am a little skeptical towards solutions that seem easy and too good to be true. However, I decided to try this one out especially after I red the reviews from others. I have to say I give this CD my highest recommendation. I do not know if my memory has improved but I do know that every time I am having a bad day I listen to this CD before I fall asleep and wake up the next morning feeling brand new, positive and energetic. One thing is strange though my dreams have changed..
Wow!, 21 Jun 2006
This CD is amazing. I started listening to it a few weeks before sitting 4 exams and I can honestly say that it made learning much, much easier. In just a few minutes I was able to read and recall information that would, from past experience, have taken hours to learn. The first thing I noticed was remembering things from my childhood that just popped into my mind, e.g. places and names of friends & neighbours from 35 years ago. This is a powerful tool and I will certainly be trying other CD's by Glenn Harrold.

More "Hmmm.." than "Zzzzz..", 09 Oct 2008
I'm sure the theory behind this CD is great, its very well put together, and yes, it probably will work for many people.
But I'm afraid Glenn Harrold's accent quite simply drives me mad.

Wonderful, wonderful zzzzz.............., 02 Jul 2008
I love this CD, the breathing techniques are useful and on the second track there is a visualisation of a visit to a garden, supposedly going on to a beach - I have never got there because I am fast asleep by then, so it is really really effective.
Glenn's accent and voice are so soothing it is a must have as far as relaxation is concerned. The quality of the recording is astounding (no background hiss on the silent bits) and I will definitely buy more of his work - get it!
Better than expected..., 21 May 2008
This is the first ever hypnosis CD I've ever bought, so was quite sceptical... but it certainly does acheive it's goal - I was extremely relaxed and I look forward to listening to the CD many more times. I expect I shall also buy another of Glenn Harrold's CD's also. Dont expect to be hypnotised to the point you dont remember anything, its nothing like that! Its just being able to fully relax mind and body. Each 30min session seems so quick as you drift into a peaceful state of mind... you want it to last longer! This really helps me to relax when my chronic illness is making it hard to do so. Thumbs up!
Helped alot, 21 Nov 2007
After passing this audio cd in the shops many times i decided this time to buy it as i suffer from very bad anxiety and i have to say out of everything that i have tried for anxiety this has helped me the most.
You are guided by a pleasant voice in to deep relaxation and by the time the cd has ended your whole body feels deeply relaxed you feel more positive and anxiety is alot better. I felt so much relief from my anxiety because of this cd.
I hope to listen to other audio cds by Glenn Harrold

This works, please take advantage of it., 25 May 1999
I successfully used this book to prepare for the removal of major uterine fibroids.
Pink bubble, 17 Aug 2008

All I will tell you is that this book is about spiritualism and nothing else. If you dont understand spiritualism or do not want to, then this is not for you.

A helpful contribution to conscious evolution on Earth, 06 Apr 2001
These entertaining stories, about people coming to remembrance about how to live in an evolved way, make a valuable contribution to the flowering spiritual movement that is currently taking place on this world.
After awhile, you no longer need the tapes to meditate.
really works, 03 Jun 2008
