A really good guide to everything you need to know about installing a bathroom. We looked at a few different ones when deciding what do with ours and this was the best. Answers all those tricky technical questions so you know what you're talking about when it gets down to booking workmen and holds your hand if you want to do it yourself. It also helps sort out those design conundrums.

As an American, I had a rude awakening when starting to remodel my bathroom in my UK flat. Things are simply done much differently on this small island. From the cistern water supplies to the banned electrical outlet, I quickly realized I needed a crash course in bathroom remodeling from a UK perspective.

Imagine my disappointed to get this book from amazon.co.uk (as well as the kitchen remodeling book) only to find the entire thing written for a US audience.

Based on that alone, I find this book completely useless. Individuals using this book in the UK may end up with a bathroom that either does not function or is in code violation.

Although at first glance this looks an informative little book on reading through it I very soon suspected that many of the instructions were geared more to promote Stanley products rather than offering cost-effective labour-saving solutions. And when it came down to the actual nitty-gritty of tiling I found it strangely lacking in clarity - despite the apparent step by step illustrations - and much inferior to the more helpful tiling pages of a general DIY encyclopaedia - not sponsored by Stanley.

The book features pictures rather than drawings of how to do everything tiling. Very easy to understand.
