Bob Barton's new book, 12 Jun 2007
An excellent book writen from the point of view of someone actively involved in the industry. this book delivers information that is crucial to those working or thinking of working in the outdoor activity industry. This is now required reading for the BSc course I am involved in running. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Safety, Risk & Adventure in Outdoor Activities, 13 Feb 2007
I just wanted to say that it is refreshing to read down to earth, covering all the bases, balanced but no messing book on this area of safety in the outdoors. Instructors, managers, parents and providers will find the advice sound, helpful and practical. Bob draws on his extensive experience as a Mountain Guide, Outdoor Centre Manager and Advisor in Outdoor Education. Brilliant and thanks. PS.I work as a Mountain Instructor and in Health and Safety;

Extremely Useful, 21 Sep 2007
Having recently started work as a teaching assistant I was recommended this book by a colleague . An extremely useful primer into helping encourage children to be more healthy, a topic which in the current climate of rising obesity levels and the reformation of school dinner menus.

Hi hope you are ok,I am researcher.really,I need this book. thank you A very comprehensive guide to LEAs role in school improvemen, 20 Nov 2001
This book gives a range of views on the value that LEAs can add to school improvement. It is a very comprehensive book giving practical guidance for LEAs who wish to benchmark their services against a standard of best practice. Schools will also be able to access the very readable text to gain an undersatnding of how the LEA can support them in school improvement. Whilst there is some emphasis on schools with concerns, it is a book that has a great deal of relevance for all schools and LEAs. There are some very well known contributors, such as Tim Brighouse and the interludes are thought provoking, short texts on how LEAs have aided school improvement. The future is not ignored and it is a key book for anyone who is interested in school improvement. Well worth the read!
