Simple to Use, 27 Jul 2004
The pack arrives with a CD and a booklet on what is required. I found the booklet useful in determining what I needed to do and on the CD are all the forms that are required to make up your will. I should imagine the size of your estate will determine how comlex your will could be. For me this will do the job without the professional fees that could be incurred.
Far too basic, 04 Jul 2002
I was very hopeful when I ordered this pack, but very dissapointed when it arrived. The pack comes with a CD which I was expecting to be loaded with files and information, but it only has a total of 272KB of files on the CD !!! There are three basic will-types included for each of England/Wales and Scotland. Far too basic, and I don't have a complex requirement.
Clear, Simple and saved me money!, 05 Dec 2001
I have used various Law Pack guides in the past to avoid using Solicitors if I can. My wife and I needed to make our wills, and baulked at the cost quoted by our local solicitor. For less than a tenner we were able to construct wills exactly as we required, following the excellent instructions. For most people, like us, making a will need not be a complicated business, and this pack is perfect. You should make a will. I recommend you use this pack.

I used this book to help me make sense of the STEP Administration of Trusts text which I found to be laborious and confusing. This was clear, concise and straight to the point, providing sufficient detail on each area of the law to build a sturdy foundation for my exams and practice.
A great help, 29 Dec 2006
I bought this book to help with my revision for the land law and trusts paper of my LLB. It was great, easy to read and containing sensible explanations of all the key areas. If like me, you're not a great note taker this book will be of definate help.

A good starting point, 13 Sep 2008
This text was recommended by my course leader for Contract Law. It was recommended on the advise to use it as a starting-point for further reading, and I'm glad I was given that advice. The book lacks stimulation. It is by no means critical. And to some degree, its content and reasoning on points of law is unreliable.
Half the size & weight of my other law books!, 19 Nov 2007
I have this book and Law of Contract by Richards. This book is great to take when I'm travelling on the train, unlike all my other law books it isn't very big and is light. I do find Richards book easier to read but the cases are very clear in this book.
Not bad, 23 Dec 2006
A concise book that will get you through most of the hard parts. Great for general reading and an overall view of the subject, but perhaps not the best book out there in this area. Very technical at parts, but useful all the same.
First Year Law, 09 Sep 2006
A pretty good text book. A little heavy going, but goes into a lot of the technicalities and cases which are useful for applying to caselaw exams.
very useful, 23 Jan 2004
I really enjoyed reading this book which was my first contact with English private law. In my opinion this book is perfect for foreigners who need an introduction to UK law, especially students with a civil law background. A really clear, concise, structured and interesting first approach to CONTRACT LAW.

Seriously this is one of the best books I've ever bought!!! It has helped me to prepare for seminars as well as lectures and even sometimes used it as my main source of study notes since it covered everything required for certain chapters! It was also especially helpful as regards difficult chapters such as UCTA and UTCCR and has helped me to prepare for problem questions up to the point of achieving 70% in my assessments! If it wasn't for Law Express i would had probably not even passed contract law.

Sujjada's review on Elements of Land Law, 31 May 2005
This is a very detailed and thorough book for undergraduates. It probably contains more detail than is required for general land law knowledge, but is a great starting point for essays. It isn't the ideal book if you are looking for something succint. The language isn't particularly reader-friendly either. Nevertheless, the content is great - this book alone should be sufficient for an entire land law module at undergraduate level.
Everything you need, 13 Aug 2003
This book is detailed without being laborious. Its sections are well-structured and easy to follow. It can be used as a reference book, or even read cover-to-cover. I really liked this book and believe it's got everything an LLB or CPE student could need when studying Land Law. I'd buy it (oops - I already did).
extremely comprehensive yet readable, 05 Oct 2001
Elements of Land Law is an excellent text for law students. It is extremely comprehensive, going not only through the substantive law but highlighting the many issues that do not immediately come to mind at the mention of land law, but prove to be central to our perception of the notion of property. These include environmental, human rights and even sociological and phsycological issues. Despite its intimidating girth, the book also happens to be a very good read, unlike other much drier expositions of the law. Some have called it a rather longwinded text, but for undergraduates a little explanation never hurt.

LIMITED CONTENT, 01 Jan 2009
This book is written in a jazzy journalistic style but the content itself is limited. I am particularly concerned that there mistakes in the inheritance tax examples concerning the transfer of the unused part of a nil rate band to the surviving spouse. If you are looking for a book which clearly explains how to obtain grant of probate and administer an estate, there are better books out there such as 'A Step-by-Step Guide to Wills and Probate'.
Very clear and easy to follow, 31 Jan 2008
I'm really impressed that someone has taken such a daunting and legal subject and managed to explain it in a way that anyone can understand. Whether you're writing your own will, or sorting out the affairs of someone else, I don't think you could find a clearer book on the subject.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW, 14 Aug 2005
This is the best and most informative book in these three fields. I bought this along with the which?guide and this is far better. I am currently taking an estate through probate and this book is proving invaluable. I only knew a little about probate and found this easy to use informative guide both accessible and written in plain English.

I only knew a little about probate and found this easy to use informative guide both accessible and written in plain English. 'Verbose' wouldn't do it justice..., 11 Nov 2007
A book which models itself on some of the more circuitious judgements of our Law Lords - the sort of book which will take a page to say what could quite easily to stated in a few setences.
While it scholary level of detail is to be admired it just requires a bit of time to extract all of the relevant detail leaving the obvious question as too whether it it could be more tailored to the undergraduate level.
Will contain far too much of a historical slant on for some but if persevered with it will greatly improve your knowledge of tort. Useful for students, 12 Sep 2006
Using this book, I achieved a first in Tort on the Graduate Diploma in Law. Yes, it is broad but it is also readable and accessible, especially when compared to other books such as Winfield and Jolowicz. Dreadful- read a proper book, 23 Sep 2005
I was horrified when my son returned from his first term at University with a copy of this dustbin of a book last year. Whilst it claims to be authoritative, more then 22 years experience in this field reveals that nothing less than a "Proper" book, such as Clerk & Lindsell on Torts, plus reading of cases IN FULL will suffice if you want to do well in this area. So long as you keep your wits about you, tort, like many other areas of law, is not massively difficult. As most students want to become legal professionals, I urge you to get off your backside and do the work properly- you'll be grateful in the long run! NB, this book was saved from a 1 star rating purely because my son managed to acquire a book that is even worse- Tort in a Nutshell. This book will guarantee you failing your LLB tort exam (as experience has shown).
Comprehensive, 13 Aug 2001
This book is one which has tried to cover as many of the issues surrounding the law of tort as possible. The format is one which is comprehensive, and has impressively included a whole library of useful material for the law student.

A Study Saviour, 02 Sep 2007
Just buy it!!!!, 06 Jul 2008
Equity and Trusts (Law Express), 08 Oct 2008
excellent book to use as a summary when you are reading through your lecture notes. i found it helpful for revising for my Equity exam at University.
Trusts made straightforward, 12 Oct 2006
Trusts is a bit of a struggle for me so I wanted some help and I certainly found it with this book. I was impressed by the Tort one that I used to prepare my first piece of coursework and it got me such a good mark that I was keen to get the others and this book really makes a difference. I never thought I'd be able to get the hang of some of the stuff in trusts but Law Express makes it really clear and straightforward. The key cases are excellent and the lists of points to learn help to focus me on what is important.
I'm definitely going to use it to help with my first trusts essay which is coming up soon - in fact, I don't think I could write my essay without it.

Not exactly reality, 27 Aug 2008
I suppose this is a good read for those who want a textbook version of reality, but this book aint reality. Im going through a messy divorce as I type and what the book doesnt tell you is how bl**dy slow the whole process is, and the fact that legal aid solicitors take their time and barely do anything for you (forget trying to get any court order or speedy reply or appointment, this is the NHS of law), and how the system screws women who leave abusive men from just about every angle.
I have been to citizens advice bureau, who wasted my time, twice (and it took ages to get through), I have been through 3 solicitors because the first two gave me reckless advice more concerned with costs than helping me with my case, our first mediator was biased in favour of my ex and she mispresented a session to my solicitor deliberately, the list goes on.
Point being, yeah, its a guide, like a guide to childbirth. but the true horror and the knowledge of what divorce with a bitter ex is really like can only be known by going through it.
Domestic abuse? even the police turned on me when I asked them for help.
CSA? they work as slowly as solicitors.
On benefit? Expect to be grilled every turn and its a full time job just keeping your benefit coming in.
Expect to get an injunction if youre on legal aid? not a chance.
oh and the final screw to you - as long as you have an 'interest' in the marital home, you dont qualify for council housing or home share schemes, and selling the marital home can take years so I hope you're happy paying rent.
if you havent left your partner yet, think about it very carefully. my case i am glad i left, but be ready for the s**t to hit the fan and feel totally and utterly without support or rights because that is what the book dont tell u but it is what i am telling you and it is reality.

A very clear and simple path through some of the legal stuff in divorce. I read this together with FAMILY COURT HELL by Mark Harris. FAMILY COURT HELL is a story of Britain's Worst Access Case ever, which explicitly details how bad child access cases can become if mother does not want to co operate. By reading both, a [slightly!] clearer picture emerges as to what not to do! Buy both if you can.
