Brilliant erotic fiction!, 30 Dec 2007
This book is an absolute find! Too Hot To Handle is fresh, incredibly well-written and wildly erotic. It contains ten short stories, each of which has a decent plot and fabulous characters, in addition to lots of very steamy scenes. The best erotic fiction I've read for years. I'd love to know who 'Madame B' really is!
Only the price gets it knocked down a star!, 19 Dec 2007
I'm always up for a saucy story, and I've always particularly liked confessions because they're a "quick fix" for when you don't have much time on your hands. Too Hot To Handle is authored by the elusive Madame B, who travels greatly and draws these wonderful stories out of sexy women willing to share. All the stories are completely anonymous - and completely hot! They're tales of confident women that go out and get exactly what they want - whether it be sexual kicks or revenge.
The beauty of these kinds of books is there's such a variety of scenarios that if one story isn't really doing it for you, then you can skip onto the next. However, I didn't have that issue because I thought they were all very, very sexy and they certainly got me going! I won't ruin it for you by going into detail, but there are definitely some really hot narratives in this book which are ideal to warm you up before some solo-loving or perhaps as part of an 'early night' with your partner. Either way, you're going to have some sexy fun!
I recommend this book heartily for the content, but I do think that it's a little overpriced given there are only ten delicious stories.
The new Black Lace, 25 Jun 2007
I used to love Black Lace but they became stale and boring. These new books by Ann Summers are brilliant page turners with great fun stories. The covers are great and I was not afraid to read them on the bus home! I am now reading the next book in the series by Madame B!

One of the most useful reads you can make towards happiness, 27 Jul 2008
I received a copy of the book and reviewed it for my show "The Crane Bag". I read it swiftly as it is clearly written. I was particularly touched by the honesty and the genuine account of Catherine's personal life. I could easily recognised myself through her stories of failed romances. The exercises are simple but incredibly effective. I have applied the principles she prones in her book and I have been enjoying a very healthy and happy relationship with a wonderful man. No doubt! It works :-)
Thoroughly recommended again and again and again., 30 Jan 2008
After reading this book my life concerning relationships has sky rocketed. Catherine writes so coherently in a way that makes absolute sense to me and I'm sure many others. This book is an inspiration to just skip so many unecessary stages in the search for what she perfectly depicts as "true love". It has such a variety of style to ensure her message hits home: her story, checklist, exercises and her writing style, which makes clear her appreciation and understanding for anyone that happens to be searching, just like she was. I thank Catherine again and again; this book delivers results. It is most definately the best money I have spent in a long time - as if I have literally bought true love!
Inspiring, 27 Jan 2008
I found Catherines story of her search for love very inspiring and innovative. It gave me wonderful new ideas about how to change the way I see myself. It is full of interesting exercises that are not just about helping you find a partner but about feeling better about yourself.
I highly recommend it.
A treasure trove , 18 Jan 2008
This is a book that delivers as much as you want it to. I read it from cover to cover in two days and am now in the midst of working the exercises. I can honestly say this is one of the best written and informative books I have had the pleasure of reading.
Catherine's story to finding The One is cast iron proof that she is sharing great knowledge born from experience with the reader in part two of the book, which may be a reason I found it such a treasure trove of ideas.
Whatever your situation / status I know this book will help, and, in a good way, make you question many of your relationship ideas and practices.

GREAT!, 27 Jul 2004
My wife and I travel every chance we get and we pass the evenings away by reading the latest 'good book'. This book was filled with great mini-stories and information never before talked about regarding the Letourneau case. We enjoyed the book very much. We also read Mass With Mary: Thr Prison Years and loved it, too. Both books were given to us as gifts before we left the states and we couldn't have asked for better reading material...thanks kids.
the spirit of love, 03 Mar 2001
this story maybe represent the life which we would like to have it, to have the real feelings which we need it, even we may faces many problems, but who love, he must do the impossible to give his life the satisfying he see it....
Gregg Olsen is an excellent writer., 31 Aug 1999
I loved the book, I couldn't put it down. I have read three of Gregg Olsen's books and all of them have been excellent. I look forward to reading the rest of his books and any more that he puts out. He places a different light on what happened behind the scenes with Mary Kay Letourneau and her lover. Not everything is black and white and Gregg Olsen proved it. He did a lot of research and is good about not being bias in his writing. I recommend this book and any other books that he has written. I look forward to anything else he may produce in the future. Gregg, keep up the good work. I'm not much of an author follower but you and Ann Rule may change me yet!
Finally, the background that was needed about this case., 22 Aug 1999
I am also a former Psychiatric Nurse, and the clues that the author picked up on throughout the book are very much to his credit. Yes, she may have a psychiatric disorder that is very much treatable with compliance in her medication regimen. LeTourneau decides not to do this, and also makes many poor decisions in her life. She is really not a sympathetic character, but a fascinating personality. I am glad that the author spent as much time as he did on her childhood and birth family as this also adds to unraveling the puzzle. But in the end, she is responsible for her actions. Highly recommend to any lover of true crime stories.
Vili is ruined., 20 Aug 1999
Even if it had been true love once she gets out Vili will be old enough to not be excited by the ' forbidden.' Why? He will be of age and all the things that excited him with her will be common place.

A sexy novella, fans of this genre will enjoy this!, 28 Dec 2007
This is the first novella in the red-hot Madame B series. The main character Katie is fresh out of a long term relationship in which the sex was less than satisfactory. Her partner Stuart had been a very selfish lover, so when Katie finds herself single, she decides to go out and have all the great sex which she missed out on whilst in a relationship.
This time, however, Katie wants something different. Eager to experience more than just 'vanilla' sex, she frequents sex clubs and experiments with bondage, group sex and much, more more. Her partner in (sex) crime, Ved, certainly helps her push all her sexual boundaries, but as Katie trusts him implicitly, it's nothing more than a naughty game. With Katie's taste for adventure, and Ved's contacts, they're definitely having some seriously dirty fun, and Katie really feels as though she's making up for lost time.
The only cloud on Katie's horizon is Alex. Introduced by Katie's best friend, he is everything a woman could ever want. Well, most women, anyway. Katie fancies him and wants to be with him but isn't sure that she could face giving up her deviant sexual lifestyle and entering into another sexually 'vanilla' relationship. She tries to persuade Alex round to her way of thinking, but it seems he thinks kinky sex is wrong and that all people engaging in it are perverts. Is their relationship over before it's even started? There's only one way to find out...
Although I do tend to prefer short stories to novels or novellas in this genre, I did enjoy this. There is just enough sex to remind you that you are in fact reading an erotic book, but it's not a total s**g-fest. I found myself genuinely interested in the outcome of Katie's story, and the sex scenes were definitely sizzling enough to get me excited!
My only criticism would be - as with other books in this series - it's a little short, considering the price. But in terms of content, you can't fault this book. If you want red-hot steamy sex and an interesting plot - you've got it here.

A well presented and fascinating read, 11 Jun 2007
This book is based on a true love story from the times of Jane Austen related in diaries and letters. It tells of the love between a Lydia Grenfell (beloved Persis), the daughter of a Cornish tin and copper agent and Henry Martyn, who has just emerged from Cambridge, and travels as a chaplin of the East India Company to India, Muscat (now in the Oman), Persia and Turkey. Their affair continues by letter some 17 of which are reprinted in this sumptuously produced and chunky volume. The pet name Persis appears to derive from the South West part of Iran named from the inhabitants, the Farsi. Farsi was a language with which Martyn was fluent; he translated the New Testament into it, just as he translated it into Urdu and Arabic.
The book is divided into three parts; the first section being a factual account based largely on Henry's letters and his exhortations to join him in India, the second details 17 complete letters from Henry and the last part shows how the material of this star-crossed love affair became a source for nineteenth century novels.
Lydia was anxious by nature and fervent after her conversion to Methodism-her life, as with many women at this time, restricted both geographically and intellectually, and bound by bigoted convention. In comparison, Henry who had excelled in both Classics and Mathematics at Cambridge appears to have had more emotional space and a strong evangelical calling. He was a man destined to a most productive life and his ardour shines through his correspondance. This is a fascinating study and deserves to be widely read. Barbara Eaton and Hypatia have performed an excellent service for us.

Don't bother, 17 Sep 2002
Pretty dire effort really. Melodramatic descriptions of her mothers and grandmothers marriages. Self-pitying and annoying account of her own marriage break-up. The whole thing reads like some dreadful short-story written for a pappy womens magazine. I only finished it because I was abroad for a | | |
