Terrific, 10 Sep 2007
Well written, an infomation goldmine and almost impossible to put down.
Despite it's appearance it is not a heavy read and well worth keeping as the 'loo book'.
If you like your cricket this is all you need.
awesome, 02 Apr 2007
there's no finer book about cricket. great writing by the finest journalists, athers on warne, parkie on truman plus brilliant, brilliant insights from engel, barnes et al. the sort of book you'd have to pack as your desert island choice. plenty of stats, much humour, quintessentially english - wisden is the purest distillation of cricket. a work of genius.
Wisden Bowls Everyone Over Once Again, 29 Mar 2007
This is the second year that Wisden as been published in the large format, and this like last years addition is absolutely great. It is far easier to read and collectible than the normal-sized Wisden. This Wisden also features full coverage of the Ashes late last year-early this year, along with England's surprising one-day series truimph in Oz. This is a well and truelly great edition, a must for all cricket fans.
Amazon.co.uk are doing an incredible job by selling this at a bargain price and should be congratulated. Superb!
Cricket is England's greatest accomplishment, 28 Mar 2007
I know that cricket is not considered to be the trendyist of past-times but as a born and bred Englishman I must say that there is something uniquely English about cricket. This book is just great and I sat for hours reading it in the pub with a lovely pint of stout.

One of the few sources on nutritional deficiencies & disease, 17 Mar 1999
This is an excellent resource on nutrition. I used it to develop a list of nutrients regularly depleted in the medical history of an Alzheimer's victim. It was the only source I found that summarized that information for a number of diseases. It's breakdown of the nutritional components of foods is also excellent.
Concise and up to date information, 02 Jan 1999
Arranged in such a way that it is easy to find specific topics. Information on each nutrient is concise and well presented. A good addition to any library, especially if you are interested in a healthier, more balanced approach to nutrition.

An Intresting Read, 17 Feb 2008
I own each F1 review video, dvd and now a book from each year and this 2007 book is identical to the other official books in that it follows the tried and tested format.
Each race has about 8 pages containing all the time and laps stats for the weekend, a quick comment of the race from each driver and a short report usually focusing on the lead battles. As ever the rest of field is always neglected which annoys me personally as I support some of the littler teams but it's how each book has always been since Murray doesn't do his yearbooks anymore.
Apart from that, there's a panel that judges the drivers and ranks them in order of performance, the usual Hamilton worshiping that F1 seemed to do this year (although not in massive droves thank god) and a good deal of technical info. The pictures (of which there are many) are also very good too.
Must have for F1 fans, 17 Feb 2008
The book is very good as were the past editions. Official information on one of the most interesting - spy flaged-close raced-team mate rivalry season in recent times.
I am not sure about the one star review here, but Schumi was not racing in 2007, so i am not quite sure one star is fair for this mistake by the publisher.
also, the new DVD 2007 Season Review is good addition, they really up'ed the quality on the production. Getting them booth is a must for any fan.
Don't let one mistake put you off-this is F1 good!, 10 Jan 2008
Fantastic book if you want to read about what really went on during the season from the horses mouths! The Round Table piece, is fantastic - nice to hear F1 team people being honest.. Team technical pages are fascinating, with lots of detail I haven't seen in the F1 magazines, like why Renault were suddenly so slow because of a dodgy tyre on a wind tunnel model! Brilliant race coverage, with some amazing photos. I used to buy Autocourse every year, but bought official book last year, much better for F1 fans and a real insider's view of what's going on, plus better printing for half the price. Shame about schumacher appearing in the Monaco results, but it's the only mistake I found, after reading the whole book over Christmas. This book is the best F1 yearbook in my opinion.
Official Formula One Season Review?, 02 Jan 2008
With the title bearing the words Official I would expect this book to be accurate. I use it to check the statistics that I have collected over the course of the season. Imagine how disappointed to discover that a certain Mr Michael Schumacher totally dominated practice and set the fastest lap at the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix and that Tiago Montiero set the slowest lap of the race. How many other of the given statistics are wrong? If you are going to declare yourself as a 'Official Review' at least try and get it right.

For anyone who wants to understand the world of the wolf, 18 Nov 2008
The subtitle is rather misleading as this is far more intelligent, indepth and intriguing than most celebratory (read obsessed with "aren't they just so cute?" pictures) animal books are. Busch has created a book for both the layman and the academic with a wide ranging look at the world of the wolf. He explains the hierarchies of wolf family life, the problems they face and the historical view of them in clear, intelligent prose. His chapter on the history of the wolf is especially enjoyable. You need no prior knowledge but if you have some, the book is indepth enough not to be dull.
It's also a brilliant book for anyone who wants to study wolves more deeply without reading through endless, highly specific academic papers. He specifies where they live, controversies over subspecies / species naming and conservation problems they face in very clear and understandable formats. Highly recommended.
