Zoey and Ben are wonderful, 08 Mar 1999
Wow! What a refreshing read. I was so much a part of this book, I missed all the characters when it was over. I'd prefer to give it 3 1/2 stars - its better than average, 11 Feb 1999
Zoey and Ben's story was a nice story to follow, but there was not much there. The writing was, ok, nothing spectacular, no in depth descriptions, no profound thoughts, just sweet and simple words, for a sweet and simple story. I hadn't read Devlin's Light (which I didn't need to since it was pretty much summed up in this story), and Wonderful You stands fine on its own (though it is very obvious that there was a predecessor and will be a sequel - or two). There were definitely some great points in this book - like who couldn't love a mother who keeps Godiva chocolates in her glove compartment? But on the whole, there was nothing in here that made me say "wow". The characters, while likable, are not very deep. I felt kind of cheated. This is obviously a close family who love one another a lot, but that is the only emotion I got out of them. It seemed to border on superficiality. Now, after seemingly ripping apart this story, I would like to say that I did enjoy reading it as a "light" read, and will probably pick up the next book, "Moon Dance" just to see what happens with this family. A beautiful story, 13 Dec 1998
Mariah Stewart introduced the Enright family in DEVLIN'S LIGHT (Nick Enright's story). She follows it up with WONDERFUL YOU the story of Nick's sister Zoey. There are no villians in this book, just a bunch of people you'd like to know. Readers will love the story of Zoey and her childhood friend, Ben. There are some great scenes when Zoey, who works on-camera at a home shopping network, cooks for the audience. Zoey is no cook and makes no bones about it. There are great secondary characters, too. Stewart has another winner here. I can hardly wait for sister Georgia's story. A funny yet poignant novel, 27 May 1998
Zoey Enright is the twenty-eight year old middle child of a successful family. Zoey hates being good at many things, but not great at any of them. Especially galling is the fact that her mother is a dedicated best selling author, her brother is a marine biologist, and her sister is a superb dancer. However, Zoey still tries and she successfully auditions and becomes a popular hostess on a home shopping network. Another bonus to Zoey is the CEO's grandson, Bennett Pierce, who is helping his relative take control of the company. Bennett is unaware that Zoey, a haunting ghost from his past, is employed there. When the two meet, their childhood friendship blossoms into an adult love. However, their divergent professional plans make a long term relationship almost impossible to achieve unless a compromise is found. WONDERFUL YOU is a multi-layered novel that will appeal to fans of romance, mainstream fiction, and family sagas. Mariah Stewart exceeds her own high standards of excellence with a work that compares favorably with the best of Barbara Delinsky and Belva Plain. The romance between the two protagonists feels genuine and touching, but the heart of the tale lies with the secondary characters who populate the sub-plots. Hopefully, some, if not all, of them will have their own stories told. Harriet Klausner

Book 3, 11 Oct 2005
In early 1989 at St. Ansel College (in Stone River, Maryland), Professor Stephen Madden was one of the top in the English field. Universities, world-wide, vied for him to give lectures on their campuses. He was next in line to be the Head of Celestine Hall. So his nineteen-year-old daughter, Nina Madden, stopped short as she witnessed her larger-than-life father being arrested and charged with the rape and murder of four students. Confused and emotionally adrift, Nina washed her hands of her father, her stepmother (Olivia), and her stepbrother (Kyle). Today, sixteen years later, Nina Madden is a book editor in New York City. Her best author and friend is Regan Landry. Regan's late father had been a famous true crime writer. Regan is continuing in her father's footsteps. So naturally Nina goes to Regan for help digging into the past crimes of her own deceased father. Olivia has recently died and while going through her father's things, Nina reads a letter from her dad to Olivia. In the letter, Stephen admits to having affairs with his students, but not in their deaths. In fact, he accuses Olivia of defiling the girls and murdering them. But that is impossible, right? Regan and her FBI boyfriend, Mitch Peyton, begin digging. Detective Wes Powell, Stone River Police Department, very reluctantly joins the investigation as well. As Nina learns more and more about Stephen and Olivia's pasts, a killer becomes uneasy. **** I love how the author makes each novel of this series a stand alone book, yet keeps Regan and Mitch as an ongoing sub plot. If you are looking for a "Romantic Suspense", go elsewhere. Mariah Stewart is pure "Mystery Thriller". Stewart's stories, such as this dark tale, clearly shows that she enjoys her work. It also shows how twisted and devious her imagination is! As you read, do not assume that you know who the killer is. You may be dead wrong. (Pun not intended.) Terrific addition to the "Truth" series. **** Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.

Not the best, 10 Feb 2008
I'm a big fan of Mariah Stewart but have to admit this is not one of her best. First puzzle for me was on the back cover it stated Lorna Temple, not once during the book (or maybe I missed it!) was her name ever referred to as this. Also seemed to read more about her accountancy business than the actual murders taking place. They seemed to be a distant fact referred to now and then. Don't want to give the game away to those who haven't read the book but the murderer just didn't fit, age was a problem for me especially for those that were killed and disposed of by this person. However all in all not a bad read, but onto the next one.
Brialliant Series as Usual, 31 May 2007
I had never heard of Mariah Stewart until I was browsing Amazon and read other readers reviews. I decided to buy one of her books and I have to say I was not disappointed. I ended up buying all of her books to date and reading them one ofter the other. I never once got fed up!
What I love about this author is how she starts each book with a new story to tell and new characters but then brings each of those characters into each of her new books. Every character is somehow connected in some way to the others.
Hard Truth was gripping and after reading it in one sitting, couldn't wait to start the next one in the series. Lorna Temple arrives home, after her mother dies, to sell the family farm and ends up on the trail of a killer and to try and find out what happened to her friend who went missing when they were 9 years old. Toss in a hunky PI, his FBI friend and a writer of true crime and it takes them to places Lorna never dreamed of.

Whodunnit?, 08 Mar 2005
A great start to a superb trilogy! I like the author's twist that the reader knows while the characters do not A deadly game is being played out! and peoples lives are at stake! I advise you to read all three in the correct order - Dead Wrong, Dead Certain, Dead Even Enjoy!
great read, money well spent, 14 Jan 2005
three prisoners are transported to court in the same bus, there's no connection. After being put in the same room by chance, they make a plan. The game begins. Mara Douglas is a custody worker who's completely oblivious that there is a killer looking for her until the second person dies and hits a little to close for comfort. This book kept me on edge from beginning to end. I couldn't put it down and have already read it twice. It's pure genious the way the author links all three books (Dead Certain and Dead Even)This book has it all, it has romance, it has action, it has a great plot that makes you think what if....? and it has an open ending which make it all the nmore better because the characters have a second chance of turning up again. Absolutley brilliant book.
The first of three!, 23 Feb 2004
There is a serial killer on the loose. The only connection found is that all three women were listed in the phone book as M. Douglas. They had been murdered in the same order as they were listed. The next person listed that way is Mara Douglas. Needless to say, Mara is very, very worried. Dr. Anne McCall, Mara's sister, is a criminal profiler for the FBI. She contacts FBI agent Aidan Shields, who owes her a favor, and asks him to be Mara's bodyguard until the killer is caught. Aidan has not been on active duty for over a year, when his last mission ended with his brother being killed and himself all shot up. Aidan has been living as a hermit, filled with pain and guilt, until Annie arrives at his door and asks for his help. For Annie, Aidan moves into Mara's house and becomes her shadow. However, he never expected Mara to bring him out of the shadows and back into the light. ***** This is the first of three books. Even so, it did not leave me hanging in a lurch. The book stands alone as a thrilling suspense novel. It will be interesting to see if the upcoming books (titled "DEAD WRONG" & "DEAD CERTAIN") will have Mara or Aidan in them as secondary characters. As for this one, it is so over flowing with action and suspense that I found it extremely hard to put down the book for more than a few minutes! Once again, author Mariah Stewart aims to please, and succeeds! ***** Reviewed by Detra Fitch of Huntress Reviews.

One of her best yet!!! It gets better & better...., 05 Aug 1999
Mariah Stewart is fast becoming a favorite all over the country. I know I cannot wait until each book is available. It is rare anymore to see an author continue a series with so many different story lines..... Keep up the writing.
A Winner Once Again!, 16 Jul 1999
Mariah Stewart has done it again! As you open the cover, she beckons you to enter a world of adventure, intrigue, and romance of the best kind; good to the very last page! I look forward to joining her on her next journey.
Good Book for a modern romance, 06 Jul 1999
I must admit that this is my first book by Mariah Stewart and it was excellent. I really enjoyed the story and the little bit of history that the book entailed. It was different from the typical love story in that it had a bit of mystery. I must also admit that the mystery did not stump me. I had it figured out after a couple of chapters, but it was still fun to read and see if I was right. The only thing that I would have wished for was a little more/better description of the physical settings in the book, such as the house that was being restored and the "plain" ancestor who comes back as a ghost. On the whole, it was a good book, which I finished in one day, if that tells you anything. I couldn't put it down!!!!! Recommended very highly!!!!
A Fascinating Read!, 10 Jun 1999
Mariah Stewart just keeps getting better and better, and PRICELESS is the proof! Great characters, great story. Brava, Mariah!
Where are the Enrights?, 10 Jun 1999
The Enrights are one of the most real and loving families in romance(herMOON DANCE is the best), but for some reason Miss Stewart didn't put them in this book. This book is OK, but not vintage Stewart. She tried too hard to make a mystery and didn't spend enough time with the hero and heroine. Plus, I'm from the same area where the story is set, and she made it feel like a travelog, not a real place, which isn't like her usually. Come down and visit, Miss Stewart! Better yet, bring back the Enrights in your next book!
