FANTASTIC!, 25 Aug 2008
I bought this for my 8 year old daughter on the basis of the reviews on Amazon. I was not disappointed! It really is easy to do (even if you're not that creative yourself!). Use the stencils to create catwalk sensations - I bought it a week ago and have already sent for the refill pack as we have run out of hangers to display our creations. Loads of fantastic paper, sequins, beads, ribbon and glue (but only 20 hangers). My daughter absolutely loves it and can do it herself without any help - will definitely be buying more for presents for friends etc. Without a doubt this is fantastic value for money and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys craft activities (adults and children). You will not be disappointed!

I bought this because one of my friends had it and said it was great. First I took it on holiday and it kept me entertaind when bored. I highly recommed it to all crafty people as I've spent day using it.

My Daughter (now 11) loves this book. She started with Paper Fashions, and when this came out we added it to the collection. She has probably used these books near enough every day for more than a year! We've bought the extra's pack but there is stacks of paper with the books (The hangers dont last so long). The paper is gorgeous, the book is full of great ideas, and it really is hours of fun with endless possibilities. Even her 'tom boy' friend has ordered a book and loves it. I would highly recommend this to any young girl, or even not so young, because you can use the designs for scrapbooking or card making.
great party gift, 09 Jun 2008
bought this for a 7 year olds party my son was invited to. The girl and her sisters just loved it and it is something my older daughters would have loved when under 12 (but over 6). Great gift but also fab for taking on holiday for rainy days or ill/toomuch sun days.
Hours of fun, 16 Apr 2008
Both my children (aged 10 and 8) and I loved the original paper fashions book but this latest one is superb. It arrived yesterday and we spent the whole evening making glitzy outfits. The book has loads of ideas, the "fabrics" are shimmery and glamorous and the templates are sturdy and easy to use. We highly recommend it.

Klutz have Come Up Thrumps Again!!!, 12 Oct 2006
We love the Klutz books and kits (we being myself aged 35 and my 10 year old daughter). Once again they have come up with a simple but entertaining package for young and old alike, to create with.
In this set you get a booklet with a step by step example of 'how to do' on a page and space to one side for you to have a go yourself. Also included are a black felt pen and an inkpad. You create animals using your thumb or finger prints and the felt pen. These kits are great for on car/plane or train journeys and are compact for you to take along almost anywhere. Keep one in your handbag and you'll never be short of something to entertain kids with.
Fun for any age, 16 May 2005
I gave this to my friend for his 24th birthday and he loved it, Great fun see what you can creat with a thumb print.

An ideal Christmas present, 25 Sep 2007
This book, although not my cup of tea, is perfect for the kids. Loads of pictures and gossip about the stars of HSM. It's a glossy well put together package that has enough to keep kids occupied for months. And its very good value for money too!

This book is an absolute must have for all Bond/Craig fans. The photos are stunning, high quality and rarely seen elsewhere.
The book is divided into chapters from all the locations they shoot Quantum of Solace....
Even more enjoyable after you have seen the film...And the price is just too low for a book like this. It's my favourite coffee table book so far!!!

An Absolute Must for the digital photographer. Updated 2008 edition., 18 Jul 2008
I took up digital photography recently and bought this book, after been diappointed with another photo book.
This book is a must for the person new at digital photography. It goes hand in hand with my Canon 400D.
The book is very up to date,last published in 2008. I wanted how to learn how to take good photos and not just how to work in the dark room or editing pics etc;
I wasn't diappointed. This covers the purchase of a camera, the lens you need, other accessories, photo techniques etc; There are even tips on most of the pages, things to do and not do!
This book is a great reference and a valuable read for the photographer.
I highly recommend this book, especially for the beginner to digital photography.
What a great Book..., 11 Feb 2008
I have brough this book , and the resaion is that its great. It covered everything I needed to get to the level I am now, I have had many a great experiance. Great Book!
im disappointed, 25 Oct 2007
i did not like this book at all. while reading it, i never had those "aahh, so thats how you do it" moment. this is suitable for total noobs who has not even held a digital camera. it taught me nothing that i dont know yet, and im not even a pro.
Jack of all Trades, 16 Sep 2007
Perhaps this book is aimed at compact camera users, or should be as it is very much a beginners book. But as a DSLR newbie I found it too time consuming to read as it's rather basic and repetitive, talks about presets which I've no interest in and is rather dull reading for someone with prior knowledge. Could be good for someone who is completely new to photography.
I bought it as it was suggested as a good accompaniment to the Scott Kelby book. The Kelby book is incredibly useful, fun to read and succinct, exactly what I wanted. I don't think this book was a good suggestion for pairing together.
Needs updating, 06 Sep 2007
This is definitely good value for money :- clear layout, attractively designed, good handy size to pop into a camera bag, easy to read and digest. However, I'm a bit confused that Amazon states it was printed in 2006 because my copy says 2005, please correct me if I'm wrong. I feel that it needs updating regarding megapixels, memory cards etc. and if it were, then it would certainly deserve 5 stars.

Importantly for the Bond obsessive, the book also discusses and pictures a host of minor characters from the films--Stromberg's pilot Naomi (The Spy Who Loved Me) and Professor of Linguistics Inga Bergstrom (Tomorrow Never Dies) are just two of the bit-part characters featured who will satisfy the most avid fan's pursuit of Bond trivia. James Bond The Secret World of 007 gets a nod and a knowing raised eyebrow for Bond fans of all ages. --James Campbell

This book is fabulous. I loved the pictures, the infomation about the movies. It was awesome!!! Very Detailed. But too bad they didn't cover Die Another Day. But the rest of the book was fantastic Fabulous Film Fantasy Fun for 007 Fans!, 25 Aug 2004
Add more Bond to your life between movies! This is the book you have been waiting for! It starts with the Bond films and adds to your pleasure of watching and recalling them in a remarkably effective way. This book takes an in-depth look at the action, the gadgets, the props, and the lairs of the Bond films . . . spiced up with many of your favorite stills from those movies. You will see illustrations to cut away the surface of the devices, cars, attache cases, and belts to show you how Bond used them in the films. As you know, each film ends with a major attack on the bad guy's lair. These are lovingly drawn and detailed so you can see how the whole sequence took place. You will even get such basics as how to use judo illustrated! The book begins with a perfunctory foreword by the current M. The next sections feature stills and drawn illustrations from the movies built around the themes of Bond's secret weapons, clothing, the women he loved, other MI6 personnel, Q, spies who worked for other governments, and Blofeld. Next, you go into several pages on each move in order. These include outlines of the characters in the movies, the lairs of the villains, any special equipment used (every single wonderful car is there!), and the details of the ending attack scenes. In some cases, the opening and intermediate attack scenes are blocked out also. The movies covered include Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever, Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights, Golden Eye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World Is Not Enough. Finally, there is an appendix with all of the key movie credits so you can see who played what roles. This will be great for playing trivia games and amazing people over a glass of vintage claret! The book will greatly expand your appreciation of the details in the films. It will also make them feel fresher than the way they appear on the television festivals of 17 Days of Bond (or whatever they are called -- Ian Fleming must turn in his grave). After you have finished enjoying these wonderful pages, I suggest that you think about where it would be valuable and interesting for people in your family to you to tell them the details concerning something about your earlier years. They may find how you "made it to where you are" as fascinating as the Bond fans find this wonderful book about plots and movie-making. Have a [Thunder] ball!

Days of fun, 03 Aug 2008
I bought this because one of my friends had it and said it was great. First I took it on holiday and it kept me entertaind when bored. I highly recommed it to all crafty people as I've spent day using it. Hours of fun, 18 Jun 2008
How good this book is, 28 Jun 2008
This book is the best and I encorage you to read it too your children A-W-S-O-M-E!, 24 Oct 2007
I really love all the facts and secrets that I have read! I also highly recommend - "How to be a Super Hot Woman: 339 Tips to Make Every Man Fall in Love with You and Every Woman Envy You" by Mandy Simons
Both books rock! An ideal Christmas present, 25 Sep 2007
This book, although not my cup of tea, is perfect for the kids. Loads of pictures and gossip about the stars of HSM. It's a glossy well put together package that has enough to keep kids occupied for months. And its very good value for money too! 21st Century Bond, 12 Nov 2008
The book is very up to date,last published in 2008. I wanted how to learn how to take good photos and not just how to work in the dark room or editing pics etc;
Fantastisch!! Mooi, 26 Feb 2005
Have a [Thunder] ball!

awesome fairies!, 14 May 2008
My daughter and I love these fairies. It is a wonderful little book that opens up oh so many pictures in our heads of things we can do with the bits and pieces. Regretted terribly that I had not ordered several to give away, and am going to buy a bunch to have a fairy making party this summer.
Hours and hours of fun, 26 Mar 2007
An absolute must have for any little girl - I just wish these had been around when I was a kid! I bought this for my fairy-crazy goddaughter last Christmas and it was real winner. When I next went to visit I was practically dragged to the workbench on arrival to help her create the baby fairy from the book. Making the little fairies can be quite a challenge to start with but the instructions are comprehensive and once you've mastered how to make the basic body it's a doddle. The materials are great too and they're easy to replenish using fake flowers, ribbons and beads readily available. Once you get going you won't want to stop and you can use your imagination to create whatever little people you want from pixies to princesses. The end results are impressive and all in all this will give you and the little ones hours of interactive and shared fun. I think I'll add it to my Christmas wishlist this year.
Magical fairies, 16 Jun 2005
I spent a magical afternoon with my 6yr old and her friend making all kinds of fairies. I had to help with a few fiddly bits, but it was really fun. I have bought a few other kits from the same company since and they are all well-supplied with quality materials and clear, idiot-proof instructions. (just right for Mummies in the afternoon). We now have lots of cute fairies all over the house. Thoroughly recommended for fairy-freaks.
Excellent kit, excellent value for money., 20 Aug 2003
My 7 year old daughter was given this kit as a Christmas present which we kept for the holidays. After making one fairy myself to show them how to do it (which I thoroughly enjoyed!) both my 7 and 5 year old daughters had a wonderful afternoon making a dozen fairies all of which were different. The book was simple to follow with lots of ideas for variations on the theme. The girls required minimum supervision once they were underway, I mainly helped with bending the wire neatly for them. Excellent book - would highly recommend to anyone with crafty girls.
Petal People You Make Yourself (Klutz), 03 Feb 2003
My daughter and her friend age 7 had great fun making these petal people. Everything is supplied with the book with illustrations to help you along the way. The results were great and you could make every one different. We made flower fairies, my daughter has had great pleasure playing with them ever since, they are great for children with any sort of imagination. I have now ordered several more for gifts for her friends.

An excellent overview of Star Wars in a gloriously coloured book, 09 Nov 2008
I bought this book on a whim and enjoyed it so much. It's got a lot packed into it, and it's a fairly slim book! I actually bought it same time as The Ultimate Visual Guide to Star Wars by Ryder Windham (the one with Darth Vader on the cover), and to be honest, it's a much better book; because it serves not just as a visual dictionary, but as a visual guide to boot. Well worth buying for any Star Wars lover out there!
My boys spend hours poring over this!, 03 Oct 2008
This has proved a big hit with my boys (aged 8 and 9) and our copy is starting to look battered from too much use! They are into the Star Wars films and PS games, and have found the level of detail in the book to be very informative. However, they are both advanced readers, and while you can enjoy looking at the pictures, there is a lot of text and if your child can't read fluently they will miss out on lots of interesting details.
Great Pictures, Dissappointing Text, 24 Jul 2008
Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary (DK Visual Dictionaries)
The pictures in the book are great. The text leaves much to be desired. The text is hightly repetitious. It is like a different person wrote each page, but didn't read the pages that the others wrote. If your technically oriented, don't read the text, as it is better to believe in the illusion that the things will work rather than to know that they wont. In addition, page 104 of the copy sent by Amazon, the ink had bled in the printing press. Fortunatly the image was only slightly smuged, but the text under the bleed is illegible - but no great loss from my point of view.
If you have no other books on star wars then this one will provide enough information to remind you of the characters so you can talk to you kids about them. If, like us, you want lots of pictures, the book is great. But given the ink bleed on page 104, it is a book you may like to preview in a shop rather than buy on-line as there appears to be a quality control issue for the publisher.
Not So Complete., 09 Feb 2008
With the Classic DK line up of previous books and high standard from them, you would expect the Complete Star Wars Visual Dictionary to be fully laden with information from all the previous books. Alas, this is not the case but it does include the Visual Dictionaries from Episodes 1 to 3 and a shorter version for Episodes 4 to 6 (original Trilogy). Having said that, it does have some extra information on R2D2 and the Sarlacc but misses out on the Y-wings, A and B-Wings as well as the Empire craft but since these are on earlier books it does not matter as much.
It is still great fun to read and to look at and a Star Wars fan will love it and it will get you in the mood to see the films again. I also loved the Cutaway of a Lighsaber and comparing the Lightsabers of Episode 3 and 4 (Obi Wan's and Anakin's with Luke's are the same and should be). I think that the same detail on the Trilogy would have made this more enjoyable but I am a purist in this matter. Even though the latter part has lost some of the information and the earlier is the same, you do get some extra snippets of information that were cut from the film at a later point (Luke watching the battle above his skies of the Blockade Runner being captured by the Imperial Destroyer). The Clone Troops and Stormtroopers info are very good, as well as the Characters but again you will not find out too much about Han Solo, Chewy or the Later life of Obi-Wan (Ben) Kenobi. In this book, you get to see the downfall of the Galactic Republic (it was already falling in Episode 1) to it's downfall and the rise of the Rebel Allience and final fall of the Empire.
If you can't get hold of the originals (or they are too expensive to buy sperately) then buy a copy today.
A must for a Star Wars fan, 09 Feb 2007
This is an essential item for any young (or older)fan of Star Wars. The images are superb quality and the amount of information is exhaustive. A really beautiful addition to any bookshelf and worth every penny spent.

The book is very up to date,last published in 2008. I wanted how to learn how to take good photos and not just how to work in the dark room or editing pics etc;
Fantastisch!! Mooi, 26 Feb 2005
Great book, 28 Jul 2003
this is a great insight into the world of 007 i strongly recomend you buy it.
A must for any 007 enthusiast or part time hobby-ist, 19 Dec 2001
Bought this book for my 6 year old son and he has spent many hours pouring over the pages. It has encouraged his reading too!! He 'really likes the pictures' and loves finding out the little known facts about James Bond and his films. Buy it!
All you ever want to know about 007, 01 Jan 2001
Excellent book, it tells you all you ever wanted to now about James Bond from the Bond girls to the cars. Has excellent drawings of the final battles of each mission. If you are a Bond fan you have to buy this book.
awesome fairies!, 14 May 2008
My daughter and I love these fairies.
