This is what AVP should look like, 17 Jul 2008
Although it is quite a simple tale it is well written, brilliantly drawn. Written years before AVP or the even more dire AVP 2 this collection show how the story should be. In Aliens Vs. Predator Omnibus: Volume 1 on the planet Ryushi the old manager of the planet is retiring and the new female boss is not liked, a mix of a small ranching community and big buisiness a robotic craft lands and unloads Alien eggs The load herd is soon infected by face huggers but the local farmer gets them loaded on a huge space ship rather than lose a bonus because of illness. The local vet goes to where the herd got ill there he finds is a class of Predators have seeded the planet with the Alien eggs in order to create the hunt. The Predators chase the Vet who crashes into the Predator ship causing and explosion but the young Predators don't know is that their leader has been knocked out in the crash and not killed. The young Predators go on a hunt but killing the local farmers rather than Aliens. The new boss goes to find the missing Vet only to find the Leader, She takes the leader to town when the youngsters attack, while all this is happening one of the eggs must have been an Alien Queen and now the Space ship if full of thousands of Aliens, the hunters become the hunted and they may have to turn to the very same humans they have been hunting if any of them is to have any hope of survival.
More in the Aliens style this tale is the reason why AVP ever happened if only AVP was as good. Maybe the should have just filmed this.

The Battle Continues..., 18 Apr 2005
Thrill of the Hunt is the first in a new series of AVP Mini graphic novels. Although maybe not as great as the original AVP comics, Thrill of the Hunt is a very nicely put together little book. The artwork, although flawed, is stylish and captivating. The story is amazing, a web of intriuge and with real parallels to the Alien vs Predator movie. It won't take you long to read and probably won't stand out, but I personally think that it is a worthy addition to the series, and will be buying the sequel when it comes out in June. Get it. It's not all that bad, and any Alien vs Predator is a good Alien vs Predator.

What can I say but a massive dissapointment!Do not know why the title was called thrill of the hunt there is nothing thrilling about this graphic novel what so ever! After reading the original avp comic then reading this you have to laugh as the original is amazing along with Predator The Big Game and Alien Labrinth and stronghold and then you get smacked in the face by this crap.Honestly how appaling thrill of the hunt was?!It was a lame product after we have been blessed with great titles b4.Stay Clear of thrill of ther hunt guys!Trust me!

Beautiful book, a perfect companion to the film, 23 Mar 2005
This book tells you about Amalgamated Dynamics Inc and their work on AVP creating the practical effects. Furnished with large, full colour photos this book details every part of the process from concept artwork to the full shooting models on set. There are hundreds of these photos, even studies comparing the different aliens and predators from the films showing which parts they kept or changed. It's a very detailed read and will take you a while to get through. The only problem is it's just about the practical work. A bigger book with behind the scenes info on both the CG work and practical stuff on the making of the film would have been better. However, this is an entertaining and visually arresting book, and since there's no other version around, I recommend you buy it.
The best film book Titan have done, 27 Oct 2004
If you're into creature effects then this is a must have for the collection. These kind of books are often let down by sloppy film stills and the new trend to bulk out half the book with the script. This one however has none of that, the photos are top notch, taken in ADI's shop. You get to see the sculpting, mould making, moulding and finished props. If Aliens and Preds are your thing and you want to see what goes on behind the scenes, then put this at the top of your Chrstmas list.

I love Predator comics but this one left me dissapointed. The artwork was not to the standard I have come to expect and the plot was very weak-to the point where I almost could not be bothered to finish it. And the predator does not have a leading role in this story. The motivations this creature has do not seem to appear in this story-its a bunch of criminals with a predator that jumps in from time to time. The best of this book is the cover art and various comic covers inside the book.
