Transformation between the sheets. , 08 Nov 2008
This is probably a book for couples. But whether you are a couple or a single guy looking to please women, this book is for you. It's really a modern take on the Kama Sutra and explains a lot of things. If you just want a book for men, I liked Sex Machine: A Man's Guide to What Really Pleases a Woman in Bed. However, this one can be very helpful too.
Something to get you in the mood, 26 Jul 2006
A good balance between realistic modern ideas and the philosophies underpinning the original kama sutra. It looks at sex in the context of romance, mood setting and relaxation. Probably one for long term couples.

Awesome!, 02 Dec 2008
This is a great book. It's for couples, or for those of us who will soon be!! It's got lots of daring exercies that can really add some spice, which is what I am most definitely looking for. I can't recommend this one enough! Loved the bit about the Kama Sutra, too! I also liked: Good Sex: A Woman's Guide to Losing Inhibition.
Awesome book, 21 Jul 2008
This book is not for the faint hearted!! The pictures are explicit but nice to look at slightly arty. There are brief explanations next to them but to be honest you don't need them at all. Just looking through the book with your partner is enough to put you in the mood!! If you are not very good at explaining what you want then this book is great as most things are covered from different positions to a bit of role play and foreplay positions. Would highly recommend this book!!

Not so bad, but not great either, 24 Sep 2008
I bought this book too expecting a little more out of it, like some fabulous new trick i hadn't seen or thought of yet. I was a little saddened to find that its more of a guide for total beginers, who want very basic guidance of relationships in general.
There is a little background into the history of lesbians, depicted through varrious old art works. The odd phrase here or there is defined and a few basic techniques are demonstrated and eplained. Finnishing with a guide to lesbian safe sex. Its a touchy feely kind of approach, excuse the pun, that leaves you feeling a little patronised.
This book is nothing to shout about and ill be looking into finding something a little more "out there". Ive given it a three star rating because there is nothing seriously wrong with it but there is nothing above average either. hope this helps
Have I Seen That Cover Before?, 19 Jan 2008
I am amazed that the new cover design of this soft version echoes another VERY popular positions book, (you know which one ladies), Lesbian Sex 101 by Jude Schell. Is this a form of flattery? I think not.
The photography mimics the models, grey background and most notably 2 of Jude's positions, #42, "Tailgate" and #90, "Ready to Wear." Harding's name is in the exact same suggestive place as on the cover of Schell's book. This is an obvious rip-off and an attempt to ride on the coat-tails of a much more critically acclaimed book.
a book that states the obvous, 24 Jul 2006
this sex manual is about as erotic as a car manual. a total dissapointment i learnt nothing new from it. the whole 'how to come out' stuff was a waste of space in a book thats ment to be about sex. the section on toys was short and had no good advice on how to pick good ones and also only mentioned the obvous it had nothin on dubble enders etc. it reminded me of one of them early sex and puberty books your mum gives to you when your 10. the paintings were nice but their own illerstrations looked early 90's and outdated. the style of righting was as sexy as an nhs leaflet on genatel worts.
Not a Bood Of Positions, 29 Mar 2005
When I hear Kama Sutra, I think of illustration of lots of various positions. That is not the case in this book. It's a broad overview of lesbian sex, a sort of Lesbian 101. Unless you're new to lesbian sex, skip this book. If you're new to lesbian sex, you may find this interesting. That's why I gave it 3 stars.

Kama Sutra -the Song of Solomon,Choices and Chances , 27 Sep 2007
The Kama Sutra is primarily a mechanics manual for human relationships.Press the right button at the right time and the right place and the "car starts."
Having been to India and lived there I have observed how the general culture subjugates women and how all power is reserved for the men and if you read this book inspired by Indian culture you will see how often it is the man who initates the kind of advances made to women in this book and there seems hardly any room for the woman's part in all this ( see page 255 for example)and maybe this reflects the high number of female babies in the poorer areas who are disposed of since they are regarded in these kind of quarters as being a drain on the family's resources or alternatively elsewhere as a possible source of wealth by arranging marriages for them often without their consent to the one who will provide the largest dowry for her hand. This and the above attitude is mirrored and is expressed in the so-called honour killings of young Indian women in Britain which can be read about in the annals of British crime statistics. Any loving couple could find and keep the excitement in their marriage by simply mutually aggreeing to try something which with integrity would keep their marriage vows intact and be perfectly satisfactory to both.Marriage of course is a compact before God and the generic man by which faith, and trust, hope and love, honour and obedience which characterised human beings before the Kama Sutra was ever written. And of course as an alternative strategy if one requires a strategy the Song of Solomon is an excellent read for a husband and wife together. As technique alone the Kama Sutra is possibly unsurpassed but does it take the place of real love, real faithfulness ,real commitment,no of course it does not.A rabbit has many burrows but we are not rabbits.
Golden Eagles (and though we are not Golden Eagles) in my beloved Scotland risk death by falling a thousand feet with their talons locked in each other's until when near the ground they seperate.Golden Eagles are lifetime partners unless one of them dies.Eagles are wise birds. A reading of the Kama Sutra and a reading of the Song of Solomon I would suggest might to the discerning reader make all the difference in the world.Of course if all you are after is instruction and some doubtful at best female psychology then read away and make your choice. You take your choice, you take your chances. Life saver, A must read for all couples and singletons alike, 23 Jul 2003
I bought this book as a way of expanding my life with my partner. I had no idea how useful it would be. When I first got it I was dissapointed (no pictures)how wrong I was. since reading this book I have find out ways of calming myself, tackling problems in life, getting on well with other people and you wouldn't belive the tricks I have learn't for the bedroom :-D This is not a book on sex, it is a manual on life. it is a guide by which you can learn to approach all aspects of humanity in a way which helps to improve on situations and get what you want out of life. As far as my partner is concerned I wish I had bought this book sooner. I now know a hundred subtle ways of making feel appreciated and satisfied, from a breath on her neck to things that can't be mentioned on a web site that doesn't charge ;-D. I feel that this book is a must for any person who is serious about making themselves and their closest loved ones as happy as possible.
Go beyond the coffee table versions, 09 Nov 2002
This book is a modern translation of the original text, and is a highly academic treatment. Unfortunately it is rather confusingly laid out, there are three strands of text running concurrently the literal translation, period commentary and authors commentary. Despite this it is readable though bordering on the tome in dimensions you can zip through the translation which is actually not very long. On a more practical level I have found some of the advice to be very good - but you have to read this in context. If you are unfamiliar with the original text then you should be aware that this is not a 'positions' book, the majority of the Kama Sutra is devoted to relationships between men and women, courting, marrige etc. It is a facinating insight into an ancient civilisation, and underlying it is a fundamental understanding of what makes people tick. This is an obvious choice for the those who wish to read the whole book, because the earlier Burton translation was edited by Victorian sensibilties. However if you just want to get a sense of this work you might consider the earlier version on grounds of cost. Whichever version you get you will find this a facinating read, especially if you like the perfumed garden, now all I need is a translation of the chinese taos...
Sensual, intimate and incredible! Making love is an art!, 11 Jun 1999
This book is overlooked by so many who desire to make love to their partners as though they were the only person in the world. The positions offered are incredible and although it may be uncomfortable to try some of them the ecstasy is well worth any discomfort or embarrassment. Try them! You will never experience total release from the world like lying in your lover's arm in one of these incredible positions!
Great,very informative, 19 Apr 1999

Hello my name is simon and i bought this book for my boyfriend and me to expand on our already athletic sex life. Theo (my lover) and i cannot recommend this book enough, if you want to get bendy and naughty like us then go out and buy it! love simon and theo mwah
There are coffee-tables in gay houses too, 22 Jan 2008
It is good that someone noticed that you can find a coffee-table in most gay households. A coffee-table desperately needs coffee-table books so if you haven't got one so far, this is a perfect choice. Nice pictures, not too much to read (does one ever read coffee-table books?) and it is better not to go too deep. If you want to read, there is plenty elsewhere to choose from.
The only problem is that you have to hide it when your grandma pops in for a cup of coffee. The book may be, well, let's just say... too graphic for some straight people.
An Illustrative Guide, 05 Jun 2004
Well-illustrated, but then I do prefer line drawings to photographs...they have texture and seem sexier. It is not a how-to like Mitch Walker's wonderful liitle volume, nor encyclopaedic like Jack Hart's or The Joy Of......but it is lightweight and tries to be another Colin Spencer Kama Sutra though I think the latter has sexier illustrations......at full-price this book is over-priced.....if picked up around ten pounds or below it is a useful book for display though not as lavish as Tatchell's Safer Sexy.........it would not be my first choice however, Mitch Walker's Men Loving Men would have pride of place
Fantastic! Taught me a thing or two..., 23 Jan 2004
I'm fairly new to the art of making love to men, and bought this book to try and "gem up" on one or two things. In short, this book is absolutely fantastic! My partner and I have been brought even closer through the many positions and techniques. My only criticism is perhaps that some of the positions are not achievable unless you are endowed at least to the national average, otherwise great fun can be had.

It helped alot. Very clear and distinct.
Man love has never been so bendy, 24 Sep 2008
Outstanding!, 24 Jul 2006
I would like to highly recommend according to me Anne Hooper's best book- The Kama Sutra. The drawings are top quality and very tasteful. You may get in mood for love making just by listing this very, very valuable, detailed and comprehensive book. I have recommended it to close friends who would like to try some new positions and add some Eastern spice in their sexual lives.
Everything is explained in a very easy and enjoyable to read way. I am sure that you and your partner will have a lot of fun and great moments with the help of this book. Additional bestseller I also want to recommend is "Scientfically guaranteed male multiple orgasms and ultimate sex" by scientist Ritz. Both books are superior! Enjoy.

The best little sex book you'll ever buy!, 08 Apr 2006
This book packs a punch and inside I found multitudes of great advice and postions to try. Afterwards, some of the most amazing sex evolved--which is the criteria for any book of this kind. I was glad that what I was looking for, I found in this book. It keeps the promises it makes. I'd also recommend "Good Sex" in addition. Enjoy this one!
Incredible -buy it, 23 Jan 2004
The night my girlfriend first brought this home we had the best sex I had ever had. We've had sex about 10 times a week for the last 2 weeks since she bought this and I still can't believe my luck! We're a young couple in our twenties so we're still flexible enough to pull off the positions, but be warned that some of them require you to be in good physical condition. Also, I think men who are not particularly well endowed (<7 inch) may have trouble achieving a satisfying degree of penetration for the most advanced positions, but I found this to be the bible of sex!
Kuma-mama !, 22 Nov 2003
This pocket size book about the sexually history of the kuma-sutra is very educational. Aimed more towards the man pleasing the women, it has excellent discriptions of the origin of the ancient art of love making. The photographs to help you understand the sexual positions of certain arts is spot on, and the descriptions are informative. Working your way through every position will soon boost your experience. A must for all those wanting to improve their lobedo !
Kama- Brilliant!, 16 Sep 2003
Me and my partner had been having trouble in our sex life and we had turned our hopes to different books. Then I saw this book and I decided to give it a go. I have never had so much fun having sex in my life! My orgasms lasted for longer and my partner and I had so much fun practising all the new poisitions of which our favourite is no. 23! Thankyou Kama Sutra!

Ive given it a three star rating because there is nothing seriously wrong with it but there is nothing above average either. hope this helps Have I Seen That Cover Before?, 19 Jan 2008

What a boring book! I thought the book could give some more in debth on how to get more fun out of sex. But what is given is descriptions of simple positions. Only a few lines of description. Whith just some imagination I think you would be better off without this book.
Suprisingly good!, 08 Mar 2002
Ive searched high and low for a decent high quality Kama Sutra book even plunging to the depths of the shops in Amsterdamn. After receiving this book i was suprised at its quality and would recommend it to anyone. My wife and I have enjoyed it........
Fantastic positions! Try them!, 16 Aug 2001
My boyfriend went abroad to work for the summer so i used the time whilst he was away to plan spicing up our sex life for when he returned. This book i thought would be a good place to start. It's very tastefully done and not crude in the slightest with photos to illustrate all of the positions. It begins with setting the scene -flowers, cuddling, then continues with methods of kissing, oral sex, sexual positions and post sex behaviour. The positions are all fairly simple, apart from the odd death defying position for the more agile of you! It's a must, even just to find out some new positions and techniques. Buy it!
Very Happy Couple¬!, 01 Jul 2001
This is one amazing book... A must for couple who want to spice up or make their sexlife more intense.. We are very impressed with it and are still trying out new positions! :))))
Fantastic book, not too much writing, great photos., 08 Dec 2000
This book is for those who don't want to wade through pages and pages of writing to understand the basics of the Kama Sutra. The book itself is very well laid out and contains a lot of information without being long-winded. The many photos are brilliant, far better than hand-drawn illustrations which never quite look like real people. The tone of the book is not at all patronising or overly simplistic/complicated, as some books of this type can be, but is aimed at the average person. A must for all those interested in the Kama Sutra!

It helped alot. Very clear and distinct.

What a book, 25 Jul 2002
What a gem!, 20 Nov 2001
This fantastic volume of cartoons gives new meaning to the word comedy. I kid you not. I have never laughed as much - almost every page has a laugh out loud moment which you HAVE to share with someone. Perfect for anyone who's ever had sex or wanted to have sex! Buy it and read it with someone you love!
