Essential Erotic Reading , 29 Mar 2008
There is a lot of good erotica in the short story genre at the moment and this is one of the best. Red hot stories that are believable and imaginative, the characters are beautiful and are doing things we all do, or would like to do. I also enjoyed the 2007 edition, thats well worth a look. And my own personal favourite, the classic '100 Percent Erotica' by Suzie Van Aartman, you'll need to change your underwear after reading that.
Loads of good material. , 27 Dec 2007
This is a very good anthology of erotica. I've always read these compliations by Ms. Blue, but over the years have slacked off. I got back on track with this one and was delighted by the stories within. I also liked "Sex Scenes"--Kim Corum and would recommend it as well.

Loved this book--loved it! It really rang true with me just because it is about the ultimate fantasy--sex with strangers. I have to say I want more like this! A real winner, that's for sure! I also liked and would suggest another in the same realm: Playtime.

This installment of the Quickies is, by far, the best yet. As the title suggests, the book really does things quickly, but with a kick! I will definitely read more of these as they are published. I also liked, for more of a romantic feel, Breaking the Girl.

Great stories. , 19 Nov 2008
This anthology features some of the hottest writers in erotica today and the quailty is tops. I liked all of the stories, though some were a little hotter than others. I really found no complaints with it at all. I also liked and would recommend Eager to Please.

There are so many things right with this book it's difficult to know where to begin. For starters, it's an erotic book. Secondly, it's for charity. And thirdly, it's packed full of incredibly well-known writers. Fantastic.
Ultimate Burlesque is the brainchild of the fabulous Emily Dubberley. Her mum was diagnosed with cancer (and is now, thankfully, in remission), and in a very unique way of saying thank you to the cancer charities, Emily decided to release a book of which proceeds would go to Macmillan Cancer Research. And here it is. Along with good friend Alyson Fixter, Ultimate Burlesque was put together. It features big names such as: Alison Tyler, Katie Fforde, Portia Da Costa, Jeremy Edwards, Sarah Berry, Maxim Jakubowski, Kristina Lloyd, Mark Farley and Mat Fraser; as well as a story from the lovely editors. There are 30 excellent stories in this book, all themed around, yes, you've guessed it - burlesque.
Sexy ladies in corsets and stockings doing their thing - very erotic indeed. And what makes it better is the fact that there are so many stories from different authors that no two are the same, or even similar. They vary wildly and are all extremely naughty! I think the very nature of the book may make it more likely that men would enjoy the book too, as it isn't just based on female fantasies. There are female authors in here writing from a male perspective, and vice versa. It makes for incredibly interesting reading, and had me feeling frisky on several occasions!
If I haven't given you enough reasons yet to buy the book - then I don't know what else to say! It's full of wonderful stories from wonderful writers, and is for a good cause! 'Nuff said.

Another book that does justice to its cover: 'murder, mystery and mansex'., 31 Oct 2008
This book really does do what it says on its cover. If you like murder mysteries and gay erotica, or preferably both, this book has it all. Re-enter Mitch, Lear's American amateur sleuth. No one is better than Mitch at sniffing out the bodies - mostly those of his fellow male passengers on a rocky ride on the Flying Scotsman. From the cute young porter, Arthur, to a group of licentious and enthusiastic Scottish soldiery, to Bertrand, the young Belgian who sheds inhibitions and clothing with anything byt monotonous regularity, Mitch lusts after them all. And with Mitch, where there is a will there is usually a way. His fellow travellers prove pleasingly accommodating and Lear's heroes are all priapically prodigious and copiously productive. Throw into this mix a cast of Agatha Christie style supporting characters and a 1920s murder mystery and you have a heady brew. Unabashed, explicit, joyous and written with pace and verve, this is Lear on sparkling form.

Nice break from Reality, 02 May 2008
Based on the reviews, I decided to try this book, I had only ready one of the authors before.
Turn up the heat, for a short story it was excellent, but potentially it could have been expanded, the action part of the story was short, a little too short in my opionion, but well written.
Hunter's Oath, again short story, it began to show a relationship, then it was months later and they were happily married.
The Warlord Wants forever, This I though was the best of the three, the charaters were allowed to develop, and the story line did not leave you feeling a little cheated, in other words it wasn't an abrupt end or seemingly missing a huge chunk of the story.
In conclusion, if you have never read any of the other workings of any of the authors, read a full book first to see how they expand the story, when you want a nice escapism from normal life and a little bit romance - with some nice sex scenes - then this is the book for you.
One very good story, 30 Jan 2008
Two of the stories were OK, but the last one of Cole is very good. If you have read her other books in her paranormal serie you have to buy this one to see the start. It is the story of Myst that also appear in the following book "A Hunger Like No Other". It is very hot and sexy, but also romantic.
fans will appreciate the characters as the women PLAYING EASY TO GET take charge of these tough wise guys., 18 Jan 2008
Turn up the Heat by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Allison cleans aisles at Wal-Mart, but escapes her dreary life when she wins a vacation. Vince hides at the resort as the mob want him ded. They meet and sparks fly, but so do bullets.
Hunter's Oath by Jaid Black. Needing closure, Sofia heads to the Arctic Circle where her only relative her beloved brother died in a military helicopter crash. However, she is kidnapped and taken underground where she is put on the marriage auction block. Viking warrior Johen buys her, but now must persuade the Outsider that they belong together.
The Warlord Wants Forever by Kresley Cole. Nikolai the vampire chief and Myst the Coveted Valkyrie are in love with one another. However, vampires and valkyrie are natural enemies so the two duel for superiority in their taboo relationship.
These three fine novellas star delightful protagonists starring bad dudes and s3xy females challenging them for who will be the top gun. Though the Black and Cole have a fantasy spin to their tales while Ms. Kenyon's contribution is straight suspense.
It's ok, 17 Apr 2007
Does not deserve 5 star rating. The first story by Sherrilyn Kenyon was fairly pitiful, plot and story line were non existent. It was enough to put me off the book. But the other 2 stories by Kresley Cole and Jaid Black were enough to save this book from total disaster.
3 fab books in 1 , 09 May 2006
I have to say I was really pleased with this purchase, I assumed that the book by Sherrilyn was one I had read before in her short stories and was pleasantly suprised that it was not and it was a rather good short story. The best story by far was that of Kresley Cole, even though she is new on the scene she did a fab job and I will be reading all her books after this. The one book that disppointed me the most was Jaid Black (hence the 4 stars and not 5) I have been a fan of hers for ages and read all of her Trek mi Q'an books which are great, but this one left me cold. Her New Sweden stories just dont do it for me there was no real plot and no chemistry between the characters it left me rather cold. She should stick to warrriors of Trek Mi Q'an they are much more interesting.

The stories in the book were just right in terms of length. Not too long as to be ponderous and heavy going, but just long enough to establish the characters and situation. I found it was a book that you could read a story a day from. Just look at the list of titles and read one that takes your fancy. One that caught my eye and sticks in my mind above the others is CAUGHT YOU by Primula Bond. That one has a particular ring to it because I heard a story very similar to that happening in real life.
A substantial book that will give a lot of entertainment, much recommended. Another book I can much recommend is FIVE MINUTE EROTICA by Carol Queen, and a new one, 100 PERCENT EROTICA by Suzie Van Aartman, which is an intriguing collection of very erotic and explicit stories some of which involve characters of more advanced years and well developed figures, some of them very well developed.
Sexy, kinky and romantic, 21 Jan 2007
Wicked Words is a great series and I think this is my favorite one so far, with creative and sexy stories by writers old and new. The standard of writing is remarkable. I particularly loved "Bootblack" by Tulsa Brown, a tale that goes to the heart of both fem-dom and male-dom D/s games. "Wheels on Fire" by Mathilde Madden is a wonderful story that I really can't describe without spoiling the plot: you just have to read it! But my favorite of them all is "Six of the Best" by Fiona Locke, in which a university student unexpectedly encounters her old schoolmaster: never has authority been sexier. This story led me to Fiona's new novel, "Over the Knee", which is a wonderful exploration of kinky romance. There are several other authors here whose books I'll be buying soon. Well done, Wicked Words! Wicked And Wild!, 14 Dec 2006
I've just finished Wicked Words, Vol. 9 (my first read of the Wicked Words series). I could hardly put it down! Well written stories for almost everyone's taste. And just enough 'story' to leave the reader wanting more. For instance, I would love to have known what happened afterwards in 'Bootblack', which was a story about a young man's introduction into the world of female domination.

A must read for erotica lovers!, 07 Nov 2008
Loved this book--loved it! It really rang true with me just because it is about the ultimate fantasy--sex with strangers. I have to say I want more like this! A real winner, that's for sure! I also liked and would suggest another in the same realm: Playtime. Quick but good!, 07 Nov 2008
Sexy, sensational and selfless. Buy your copy now!, 15 Oct 2008
'Nuff said. Fabulous! Erotic, sexy and throughly entertaining, 01 Oct 2008
Ultimate Submission (Xcite Selections) (Xcite Selections) (Xcite Selections)Ultimate Sex (Xcite Selections) (Xcite Selections) (Xcite Selections) (Xcite Selections)Ultimate Sins (Xcite Selections) (Xcite Selections) (Xcite Selections)
A wonderful new edition to the Ultimate range with all the stories having a burlesque theme. There is real variety in the stories, plenty of cinched waists, corsets, feathers, frills and seriously erotic sex scenes!
Looking forward to Vol. 10, 26 Feb 2007

Erotic???? No Way, 18 Jun 2007
In a word, this book is dreadful! Sorry for all those who have said they enjoyed it but this book didn't even get me luke warm let alone hot. I kept waiting for each story to start then it ended. Yes, short 5 minute reads but nothing of any substance in them to read. Save your money.
Short and Sweet, 26 Feb 2007
A very enjoyable book with bite size stories that don't waffle about with excess padding. The storyline is established and cuts to the action very quickly. It is a collection of erotic stories by different writers so each has a different style and feel about it. That is not a bad thing and on the whole most of the stories are excellent. The odd one, perhaps leaves you feeling a bit short, you feel they could have taken the bit in their teeth (or something else) and taken the story on a bit further, but on the whole it is very good. I found that it was a good book to open for a few minutes read to perk you up for the day. I particularly liked THE BOUNTY OF SUMMER by Carol Queen, that was very erotic story. I would highly recommend the book. Another book I would recommend that you have a look at, which has perhaps a stronger sexual content, is 100 PERCENT EROTICA by Suzie Van Aartman. This book could well become a classic in my opinion.
The rating says it all!, 01 Feb 2007
After reading the recommendations I ordered this book with high expectations only to be completely underwhelmed! This book wouldn't even shock or arouse my Gran. If you are a fan of Nancy Friday and some Black Lace books this one isn't for you.
Short and Sweet, 28 Nov 2004
I liked these erotic stories very much. There was something for everyone in this book (there are 35 different and unique stories). The stories are very short but they are interesting. I felt that they could have gone a little farther than they went, they were a little tame for my tastes, but they were still a lot of fun to read and I would recommend this as a gift for any woman who enjoys reading erotica or romance. And for an even more erotic read I would recommend Nancy Madore's "Bedtime Stories for Women," which re-tells fairy tales in a very erotic and exciting format.

Nights in the Republic of Love, 21 Apr 2007
To enter the worlds of Anais Nin is to abandon the mundane and the repressed states of conventional existence and to embark on a journey where the only prize is sexual and emotional fulfillment. These carefully polished episodic short stories read like postcards from the edge where the settings are lush Parisian boudoirs fully of silky textures, alluring fragrance and suggestive half light. In these sensual cocoons we meet actors, writers, shopgirls and noblemen all intent on acquiring sensual fulfillment but also importantly in examining the emotional hunger behind that need. Nin writes as only a knowing mature woman can and her creations will stir both men and women as much for her elegant prose as her explicit description. Here we are a million miles from the top shelf paperback and in a world where the accompaniment to the flowering of love should be as evocative as a Ravel ballet. Enjoy...
Uninhibited, poetic and sensual, 29 Jun 2004
"Delta of Venus" remains a very special work of erotic fiction. There is a glut of erotica on the marketplace these days, much of which far more obviously sexy than "Delta of Venus" - but, more often than not, the reader ends up laughing at the creaky writing and over-the-top sex scenes. Anais Nin's book is very different. Her prose is perfurmed, intoxicating, rather than blatant, and she allows the realm of emotion to inform her stories. Although this may not sound expecially sexy in these "in your face" days, in fact Nin's work is profoundly erotic and deeply affecting. The writing is as subtle and powerful as a Debussy prelude. A feast for the senses.
Perverse themes, 07 Sep 2001
This book is extremely well written - and probably has considerable literary merit but when it is previewed as exploring sexual themes from the womans perspective I was suprised by the nature of the themes explored - the first few stories covered incest paedophilia and genital mutilation and the book is now in the dustbin. Do yourselves a favour and buy Bettinas tales instead.
a sensual treat, 01 Aug 2001
Do not be put off by the poor film of the same name and loosly based on the this book. If you want a sensual erotic journey I can think of no better place to begin or end..enjoy!

'Nuff said.
Looking forward to Vol. 10, 26 Feb 2007
Loved it! Oh dear, I've just realised I'll have to start the series from the beginning now. Ho hum... Wicked!!, 14 Feb 2006
"Wicked Words" is just that--wicked! I love erotica short anthologies and Black Lace seems to always have the best. The stories don't take eons to read and are relevant to culture today, i.e. not Victorian erotica which I find a bit stuffy. So, this is a definite recommend. I also recommend "Eager to Please" (Kim Corum) and "Naughty Stories" (Allision Tyler.)
Wicked!, 13 Oct 2005
Wicked in every way, I have all of the collection and can safely say the standard has not dropped!
Rubbish, 26 Jun 2007
Don't waste your money, this book is very very poor to say the least.
One star is really one too many!!
And for an even more erotic read I would recommend Nancy Madore's "Bedtime Stories for Women," which re-tells fairy tales in a very erotic and exciting format.
why did i bother?, 20 Mar 2008
I absolutely loathed this piece of over-rated mindless claptrap.
I can't believe what the other reviewers have written. Wake up people!
Try Nancy Friday instead, 18 May 2008
I had lost my copy of Women in Love by Nancy Friday and thought I would try some modern erotica. In my opinion, this is not comparable. I wish I had bought Women in Love again. This didn't really warm me up.
Tedious and predictable..., 18 Feb 2008
Unfortunately, I really didn't find this book lived up to its reviews. I found the descriptions pedestrian and the scenarios unimaginative.
Now this is erotica!, 07 May 2007
It's hard to find quality erotica that both entices the libido and arouses the senses. However, "Sex and Satisfaction" is such a book! I loved every story, and mostly every word of this delicious book! Truly and uttery capitivating, I found that it really delivered in the erotica genre. Don't pass this one up if you like sexy stories that satsify! Along with this one, I also liked another erotic book called Breaking the Girl--Kim Corum.
So HOT you won't believe it!, 09 Feb 2007
Words can barely explain to you the state of arousal I was in after reading this book! I can't even name a favorite because all of the stories were so sexy! The vivid images that they created as I read them still has my cheeks flushed!!
I definitely recommend this read to anyone who enjoys truly erotic literature.
Can hardly wait to read the others in the series!
Loved it!, 08 Feb 2007
This book is a collection of erotic short stories with various themes. I liked the fact that there was a real variety in both the subjects and writing style. Cover is good too - it has a classy feel which I liked.
